September 2025 Scout Motors Factory Update

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I hope they reconfigure the forum to have a pile of different forums related to use of the vehicles.

Something like:
  • General
  • Reservations, ordering, production, delivery
  • Builds and other Show & Tell
  • Trip Reports, Journals, Logs
  • Reviews (vehicles and aftermarket stuff)
  • Tech:
    • Issues, Repairs, Recalls, Warranty
    • Charging, Chargers, etc
    • Software updates
    • Accessories
    • Towing, Hauling
    • Maintenance, Service
    • Suspension
    • Wheels, tires, brakes
    • Harvester
    • Mods (Exterior, Interior, etc)
    • Off-Road tech

It is already mapped out for the future. I used to run one of the biggest car forums in the world (1.6 million registered users making 40 million page views per month) and have a pretty good idea of how things will grow and how/when we need to add more sub-forums. I don't want to splinter things across too many forums yet.

That’s fantastic and not at all surprising. :)

Love this. The more organized the less tangents-oooh, squirrel….

Transplanting this question from elsewhere, where it was dutifully ignored...

Finally got motivated enough to post - XenForo seems like a really crude forum platform for Scout to use. Fora seems much sleeker, any reason not to use that instead for a forward-looking firm?

vs.

Most every other auto site I visit uses Fora - including VWvortex -

Scoutevforum.com uses XenForo as well (again, why?). At the very least, add Signature function here that they've got switched on? Could be interesting to see what comes from this cast of lunatics. Note 2nd column, 3rd item -

How am I going to read all the posts when it gets that’s big?!! This is the first forum I have ever been involved in. How do you keep track of everything? How?!?

Xenforo lets us buy the software. Fora is owned by Vertical Scope for use by the communities it owns.

That's also the reason we steered clear of hosted platforms. You are at the mercy of whatever company owns the hosted software and how much they want to charge you and/or pivot their business model.

Simple.

You don't keep track of everything :).

Usually you end up following/watching sub-forums that you enjoy more.

And when you get bored with that, you often go check the "whats new" tab to see what other chatter you can engage on.

Source: I've got well over 3k posts in multiple different forums :P.

I don’t plan on any other forums, unless Honda announces a new open top S2000 then I might have to meander a bit

Interesting info, thanks for sharing.

Can you switch on Signature then?

Jamie, What ever happened to more communication with reservation hold? I thought we were supposed to be getting more frequent updates in our emails. The last thing I got was about NYC.

I agree. And selfishly-since most of the original members were looking for BEV before the surprise EREV announcement at the reveal I would feel better knowing they introduce it. I’m also convinced if BEVs come first some on the fence would take the leap to BEV and the BEV take rate would grow and those converting would offer positive experiences to encourage others on the fence
Makes sense in this environment to focus on what is selling particularly well (hybrids and similar). It implies to me that more than half the orders were also the EREV.

I support this. Especially knowing they are doing a right to repair model. I'm not super car savvy, but having some help or video guides and how to's would greatly enhance the experience.

That’s so cute. You have to get it now!
I mean it definitely sold me on it!

Right! And with their main push on going BEV, it makes sense to me they have a better idea on technology and infrastructure, but maybe I'm wrong. I just don't want them to go to the way of "well we put all our money into this model because it's what was wanted and what we are familiar with and now we have to drop the other models"
