From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

You’ll still probably find a few on the engine if you choose a Harvester model though. But you’d need to be trying really hard to find one.

I’m at meetings for work all week and a Wrangler owner I know thought the Scout was going to be made by Stellantis! I corrected that notion right quick!! She did ask well what are you guys going to give each other since you won’t be able to do ducks anymore!?

My dad collects those (and all the other sizes too) - a bit more expensive than the ducks!
Honestly wouldn’t spend too much effort on a roof rack. Everyone will have different needs and aftermarket will come up with awesome solutions. Especially with the integrated lights - everyone is going to want Baja or KC or Triple-R or whatever, so owners with more experience on builds will just trash the stock stuff and it will be wasted money.
Speaking of which - power management and the roof. Especially with the split tailgate design (doesn’t seem like there’s an easy way to run line out the back), there has to be a way to get power and antenna lines up top without drilling holes and without running lines out the doors. Starlink, GMRS, work scene lighting and roof-mounted lighting - and mounting points for aftermarket rack and load bars (for RTT). And make sure we can pull trim to run lines to those roof access points.
Scout doesn’t need to do everything - owners will all want something different, anyhow.

I had suggested they stamp a location or two with a small ‘S’ logo on the roof that is right over a channel so you know where to drill then have a channel to run your wire through
That’s a good idea - but if they were going to offer roof racks with integrated lights, it would SEEM like they had some plan to get power up top without drilling (some kind of stock line egress point). And I’m assuming they know people will swap racks or want to add one later (if not optioned at purchase), so would have some kind of protected port for access, even if you didn’t select the rack. Sorry - that’s verbal garbage but hopefully you know what I mean. Some way to get power and comms up top without drilling. I only mention it in the context of the rack because they proposed integrated lights, so there has to be a way to get power up there.
I just wonder short of getting a light/rack from factory will SM want to put holes in the vehicle. O e thing to let us cretons do it, it’s another when they are now liable. But as long as it’s an option I’m cool. I don’t want any holes until I’m sure I want holes-if you get what I’m saying
I have 4 hot ports on the roof of the Grenadier (two on each side, fore and aft), from factory and covered by warranty. Wiring is pre-run and ties into the aux power switch panel. Also a good location to run comms from the interior. But, there are those indentations behind the grab rails where those port boxes are located. The Scout is a much sleeker look - less of a road tractor - so I’m not sure where they would put something like that. If they had something, it would need to fit with the sleeker aesthetic. I dunno - they are a smart team. Maybe they cook something up that we haven’t seen before. Sure would be cool.
I didn’t know if this was on the roof or not - it could also be interior. And power aside, you’ve still got to get line out for comms on the roof. Anyhow, just something on the wish list, since they were showing a rack with preconfig lighting.
I believe so. They have four switches to the left of the driver for Auxiliary functions
