2 door Terra option

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I would love to see a 2 door Terra option with a longer bed that makes up the difference from not having that extra cab. Most of these 4 door truck

s have small truck beds, motorcycles don't fit in unless the tailgate is down. Alpha Wolf was working on a 2 door truck. Looked like a normal size bed It would be nice if that was an option 2 or 4 doors.

I liked all the Alpha designs. Too bad those will never come to market.
Agreed. Just the right amount of 70’s retro met modern. They had great designs.
There was a lot of unofficial chatter at reveal that there will likely be several Terra variants but not immediately. I wouldn’t be surprised to eventually see a 2-door and a Maverick sized small/mid sized pick up but sounded like future vehicles would be roughly 2-3 years after the two models launch. Fingers crossed

I agree here. I have a 2 door F-150 with a sunroof and extra cab where I can fit a few people for a short ride but I can't five up the longer bed. I'm waiting on buying a new truck for the Terra, but I may have to wait for version 2 in hopes they have a longer bed, at least 6.5' and a sunroof that opens. Those are deal breakers for me.

Judging by the sales numbers, I am just not sure if there is a market for them.

Crew cabs seem to dominate.
But are the bigger trucks dominating because of consumer preferences or because of manufacturer preferences? We know the bigger trucks have higher profit margins. I know I’ve been pushed toward the bigger engine, bigger cab, etc., for every truck I’ve ever bought from a dealer.

I’m not buying a truck so I have no skin in this game but your comment made me think of what I saw on the road yesterday. Apologies in advance if this is anyone’s jam, but I don’t get it. This truck would seem to lose its utility.

I’m sure the designers who envision these manufactured vehicles just hope and pray for mods like this

While I would rather have a 2 door extend cab with a 6.5' bed than a 4 door with a 5' bed - planning on getting a Traveler so I have no skin in this.

Nobody is stopping folks from buying single cab trucks. You can walk into a dealership and order just about any configuration you want.

Most people allow themselves to be upsold on a more expensive vehicle that they are sitting in, than wait 3-6 months for a custom order.

If there is that much demand for them and they aren’t selling, there must be a lot of impatient people out there. 😉

I’m sure it doesn’t apply to anyone here, but I expect there are fair number of people who like the idea of a pick up truck, but actually need a four or five seater vehicle, so instead of getting an SUV sedan they get a 4 door pick up truck. That probably distorts the market a bit, with the result of manufacturers sell a lot of four-door pick ups. I’m just speculating based On anecdotal information and the fact that on any given day I see a fair number of pick ups but very very few of them with anything in the bed, but I’m guessing if only people who actually used pickups as trucks most days bought them, you’d see a lot more with bigger beds and smaller cabs.

Yep! I don’t need a work truck but do occasionally need to carry big stuff that won’t go in my Highlander. So this describes me to a “T”. Every man should have a pick up, right? Besides, I just want a Scout.

In the past, I have been told by multiple dealers that I could not order the truck I actually wanted. I had to take what was on the lot or wait and hope what I wanted would arrive. I called corporate and they couldn't help me.

That’s bizarre. We have some pretty terrible dealerships here but Ford, Chevy, and Toyota all told me I can custom order a truck with a small deposit.

Wonder what was going on there.

Sounds like you have dealers that don’t want to work for you and just want to unload what was on their lot
