Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Nine!!!!!

Makes you wonder-seriously if people are saying prices are up, this is a huge expense and if I wait two years I can get a scout for less money and have a proper SUV with powertrain options?

Rancheroooooooooo
I'm a little late to the party here but I have a Ranchero story.

My friend and I bought a 1974 Ranchero from a guy we knew in town for a few hundred dollars. This was about 20 years ago.

We immediately set to work cutting two big holes in the bed just behind the cab, and had a custom exhaust bent for it coming up through the holes and clamped on a pair of cherry bombs. We had found a pair of 5" stacks from a Peterbuilt at a local junkyard that fit perfectly over the glasspacks. It was fun and loud.

Shortly thereafter, it started running really badly and we discovered that the smogger 400 engine in it had given up the ghost. No problem, as we also had a 1969 Mercury Marquis convertible with a rotten frame and a good, strong running 429 engine. A friend of ours who owned a junkyard and sponsored our demolition derby cars every summer, agreed to bring the car down to the yard, and his guys would help us do the engine swap.

We neglected to give him a very important piece of information, which was that the car did not have a battery hold-down so you had to be very careful and always disconnect the battery when not using the car. He brought the car down to the yard on his car hauler and parked it in an area near the front of the yard, and went out for the night. Later on that night, my friend happened to be driving by the yard and saw huge flames coming from behind the fence. The battery had slipped sideways when it was being parked and it sat there with the positive terminal arcing against the inner fender until it burned the car to a charred shell. Luckily, the fire department was able to put the fire out keeping it confined to the Ranchero and the few cars right next to it, but that was the end of our Ranchero, unfortunately.

$130k is fricking crazy for a 8series.

It's a cash grab. They see Mercedes selling $200,000 G Wagens and they want a piece of that. X7 Alpina is their most expensive large SUV and it starts under 160k.
Its not coming out till 2029 because it will be using similar interior designs clues to Neue Klasse. It will be using the latest CLAR platform allowing for Full EV and Hybrid powertrains.

Is the CLAR platform good for body on frame? It seems if they want to compete in the off road arena this is a must.

Nine!!!!!

Saw my first Gravity two weeks ago while driving in traffic. I mindlessly stared at it ahead of me for a good minute thinking nothing of it before realizing, hey wait a sec, that's the new Gravity and I hadn't seen one yet. It's really that boring and that generic on the roads, no wonder it's being overlooked by buyers.
