We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. I see an Infinity Qx50 or a nissan Rogue. But, this is a truck forum and not a cross-over SUV forum so I'm guessing there a lots of fans of bubbly crossover SUV's out in the rest of the world (especially in China if they already have 240,000 orders). This is definitely not a boxy truck and real SUV.
Isn't this also a Chinese company and a car that is made in China?

The Alphamotors Wolf looked great on that video. That said, when I went to the website-well the front end is hideous without the brush guard. They have some proposed variants that would be extreamly tempting if they existed, but they are not even ones that allow reservations. Big thing though, other than concept vehicle(s) - they are vaporware. They don't intend to manufacture it themselves and don't have any real plan forward to entice someone to make it for them.
I like it (in the video), because it looks like a perfectly generic 80's truck that is lifted and modified. Not quite Toyota pickup-but a mesh between the Toyota from Back to the Future, and one of the big 3 of that era. Then you see it with their stock front in and the illusion crashes and it looks more like something made in a communist block country in the same time period.

I believe they said they currently have limited production, so they are making cars they just need investors to make them at scale.
Can’t argue the looks though. That’s very subjective.
I am probably just jaded. I have watched too many start up vehicle companies have interested ideas and never get them really past that. Some try to make test mules, others bolt their bodies on someone else's vehicle (to make them look further down the road than they actually are). Other's simply don't seem to really plan on ever producing a product, just wanting to sell the idea to someone else.
The last one I paid attention to before Scout was an off road vehicle. Their group makes a lot of the components they were going to need - and they claim to be in production already. But their idea of production is hoping to put out 50 vehicles per year, next year? That is not production, that is building a handful of prototypes for testing.

The best evidence we have of Scouts sincerity, in my opinion, is that factory being built. You don’t make that investment unless you are serious.
With a $2B investment, and a capacity to build 200,000 vehicles per-year. Yes. Very serious.
I drove by the plant site on I-77 a couple of weeks ago. It was at night but it was exciting just to see how big this project it. I also have confidence in the SM team with their commitment and pride in what they are doing. Also, it is evident there is a large following, including us old Scout enthusiasts and those new to Scout.
It really is becoming what SM is hoping it will be, a community. The fact that it’s happening organically says something. You can’t force things like this to happen. I’m just having so much fun! It makes the wait not as arduous.
Watched F1 this morning. The drivers parade was the drivers in Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster pickups painted for each team. As F1 is getting bigger in the states with races and now the F1 movie how awesome would it be to have a drivers parade in Terra trucks painted for each team. Oh!
