What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I would like to see rear bumper corner steps on the truck so people can step up into the bed. Similar to the GM trucks.
I guess if was a work truck maybe. However, I think they are pretty fugly.

Telephoto and front wide angle Dashcam. Sound. 4 k. External side Dashcams. Cabin fisheye dashcam with sound.

Good cloud storage and anywhere worldwide access to dashcam recording history.

Hitch camera at the right height and adjusts when tailgate is down.

Parking mode Dashcam live view and recording with worldwide anywhere access live and recorded with notifications. Recording for two weeks parked in an Airport garage.

I think they are great and necessary!

I hope Scout considers them!
Hi, I haven’t posted this picture in my Nationals trip thread yet but here is what the Terra does have.

If you look to the bottom right of the passenger door there is a step and then there’s a handle on either side of the window. I will also post this picture in my Nationals trip thread just to keep everything in one place but wanted to shoot this your way. It’s not on the bumper, but they have a step and a handle.

Thank You!

I appreciate it. I was aware of this step and handle.

The GM steps help getting into the bed. These are great for accessing deep in the bed.

Hey Scout Team and fellow enthusiasts,

I’m beyond excited for the Terra and everything Scout is building — it’s exactly the kind of vehicle I’ve been dreaming about for real adventures off the beaten path.

One feature I would love to see (and that I haven't seen mentioned yet) is an integrated Anderson plug or another standard solar input port directly into the vehicle/truck bed. Something that allows owners to easily plug in their own solar panels — ideally handling 300-1000+ watts — without needing a bunch of workarounds.

Here’s the vision: I’m planning to add a pop-up rooftop tent to the Terra, and I want to mount solar panels on top of the tent. Instead of lugging around a huge external battery like a Jackery or Anker just to harvest that solar energy, it would be incredible to plug directly into the vehicle.

This would let us:
  • Charge the vehicle slowly with solar while out camping
  • Power gadgets, fridges, lights, etc. straight from the vehicle without the fear of taking away range
  • Have a backup energy source for emergencies
  • Maximize the Terra + Harvester setup for true dual-fuel, solar-supported adventures

Having a dedicated solar input would seriously extend the reach and utility of the Terra, especially for those of us chasing trails far away from traditional charging networks.

This feels like such a natural fit for the spirit of Scout: rugged, independent, ready for anything. 🚙☀️ Please consider adding this — it would make an already awesome platform even more unstoppable!

Thanks for considering, and thanks for building something this community is so passionate about.

That's a great feature. I had a 99 Explorer until I bought my Wrangler in 06. It had the keypad at the driver's door handle. I never understood why more manufacturers don't offer something similar.

The recent discussion here about the locking storage in the spare tire of the Grenadier led to my comment. I would use it for surfing, but it would be great for hiking or camping as well. Either shield the compartment enough that the vehicle doesn't know the key is there. Or make it smart enough to disable the fob if locked inside.
The Jeep rental we had in Hawaii used a combination lock canister with a faraday bag inside the center console. Nobody was there to meet us, so the Jeep wasn’t locked. We opened it up, found the canister, unlocked it with the code that was emailed to us, and drove off. We did the reverse when we dropped off the vehicle.

I think my VW headlights are 1200 each - and I have had 2 broken so far. HID is king of headlights - point source, no spill. Plus the mechanical low beam cutoff - perfect cutoff line, no spill. Plus the adaptive headlights that are tied to steering. Only thing it is really missing is auto low beam (it was before it's time).

There are almost too many unmentioned features to count yet. Folding rear seats (preferably flat_, fold forward front seats), fold down console on the bench seat (especially if tailgate to front seats is not 6'), full driving assist features (a laundry list in and of itself), proximity entry, camping/pet modes, rear camera - those are essentially my must haves. Wireless airplay would be very much appreciated, as well as 360 cameras and a front camera. Solid roof, preferably insulated and reinforced - I really don't want an easy bake oven of glass. Option of a quality roof rack (not a OEM, but from a major roof rack manufacturer), KC light bar?

Other things that probably would not change my buying decision, but might be nice. Cell phone/smart watch key, HUD. Mini Starlink, Cargo shelf that can extend over folded seats for sleeping (will build one myself if it is not offered). Removable rear seats (can gain a lot of storage space under the cargo shelf). Dash camera with recorder (could just as soon add multiple recorders - I have been keyed by assholes before). Offroad bumpers with integrated front winch. 1" more lift (lift package could be an option maybe?
---
I am curious what all the 18" of buttons control. Knowing more could help sell the wide display to me - as it is, I don't see the benefit, and would almost want a smaller display (especially if a HUD could be used for heads up info).
---
Now if I really want to dream - heritage edition with round headlights, 2 tone paint scheme, pinstrips. I could be mistaken, but every original scout had round headlights. Saw a heritage edition Bronco this evening - it was a nice difference. Probably also simply the rear tire carrier too.
The camping/pet mode would also be great for hot climates. Running into a store for 10 minutes or less in summer and getting into a cooler car again would be perfect.

Welcome!

Pet Mode has been confirmed but we don’t have any specific details yet. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Perhaps I am incorrect but in some vids and teaser photos it seems there is a center console or not and a bench seat instead. A center console that could be pulled out from underneath a bench seat and swirled up to the middle would be great. Stow it when you want that third person space in front. Nothing fancy just some cup holders and a tray to set a phone tablet in. etc. Pipe dream perhaps but if ti doesn't have something like that it is likely I will get the bench and make it myself.

Everyone is hoping for a front bench with a fold down center console when the third seat is not needed. However, we have yet to see this implementation in any of the show vehicles to date. Jamie@Scout has said two show vehicles will be getting makeovers soon. Maybe some new interior features will be introduced. We shall see.

It’s been confirmed the bench seat will have some forme of a foldable center console so it can be 3 passenger bench or 2passenger and console. Console will not be nearly as complex for the bench seat version but will have something useful.
