From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

Well my ClearLidz doesn’t do that and I love it. So it will be the same thing just bigger and I will actually be able to hear the people in the backseat speak to me. That ClearLidz is not great at providing an airtight seal and that’s an understatement.
If the wind is blowing just right I get snow in my Wrangler when it’s snowing.
Maybe if it keeps coming up they will relent. I mean enough people whined about needing a gas engine that they relented.
Toyota offered them briefly in previous Venza-I don’t know if they carried it over to the newer replacement model (forget the name)
For now but with a 5million dollar investment I’m sure they will leverage other components/tech over time but probably a ways away for anything beyond the electrical architecture

So I was riding in a Lexus IS today and thought the heat/cool adjuster was really cool. It’s not touch screen or a button. It’s a haptic slide bar so you just drag your finger up or down to set the temp. It’s very cool and easy to use-at least as a passenger. Not saying I want it over a toggle but thinking of original Scouts with the slide bar/lever or whatever you’d call it and in a horizontal format would be cool in a future SM product
Why skeptical? It was more of a raised rubber texture so easy to find but again, if two (or better yet-one) toggle to click up for heat, down for cold would be very easy to use and easy to find without looking down. Personally, I’d rather have H/C on voice control. Just say driver 68 degrees and doneHmm, I can’t find a “skeptical” emoji . . .
Maybe id be ok with. It if I tried it, but it reminds me if the volume slider control in the VW ID.4, which apparently didn’t work too well. I’ll trust you on this, though. Now as far as voice control, I can’t help but think of this:
So far on our various Honda and Acuras we’ve never had problem with voice and I don’t like it for everything but looking away to set temp while driving requires full eyes off road so I never understood why they couldn’t connect temp to voice but again-toggle is fine so long as easily identifiable

I'm presuming this is meant for things that are 'built into the vehicle, and not something easily added after purchase.
1. Tow Kit with integrated trailer braking
2. Cargo area modular cargo and pet kit locking/rail system
3. Heat Pump system for heating and cooling
4. Winch attachment plate and wich pre-wiring to the cockpit
5. Pre-wired area and switch for a Ham/GMRS radio (other other accessory) in the cockpit
Other things:
12V and USB C outlets everywhere, especially the cargo area, with perhaps one outside one, wheather proofed, that is accessable from the rear
I saw a couple mentions for a passenger touch screen/control panel which sound cool, though I don't know if I'd oupt for one.
A locking compartment in the center consul or under the seats somewhere.
Tilt up solid sunroof or at least some roof venting option, not cloth.

That echos my experiance trying to buy a RAV4 Prime. The New Jersey dealers seemed to want to work with me, but when it came down to actually oredering what I wanted, it was more like, " you should get most of what you want," without actually garunteeing me what I wanted to order. Really frustrating!Toyota. I bought 3 Priuses (Prii?) with my ex-husband (2004, 2010, 2015—still driving it). The dealership that I used to go to was great—the place was a dump, no high-pressure sales, free coffee while you wait for service, reasonable costs, etc. They got bought out by a bigger dealership and now they’re like all of the other big Toyota dealerships in the area: vile.
I went to a different dealership and they told me 6 months to a year (which I was fine with) but took my order, said I could “probably” get everything I wanted, but they wanted to know what was and wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. That bothered me because I’d just told them what I was looking for. If they’d said “we’re just wondering if you can live with black seats instead of gray in case that rolls in here early,” that extra bit of verbiage would have been helpful framing.They framed it as “you can’t count on actually getting this.” In the end, I didn’t buy a car at all. It’s a long story, but I had three experiences at three dealerships that were all pretty terrible and decided it was a sign from the universe that this was not the time to buy a new car. I heard that Scouts were getting a revival and got really excited about that. If my car can hold out for two years, great!
So in 2019 I ordered a new Ranger Laredo from the factory and it arrived , as ordered, in 3 mos.
I still look at RAV4 PHEVs but the dealers in NM just don't care what I want...
2026 will bring the new RAV4 and it looks like Toyota will drop the all ICE option and only build hybrids and PHEVs with a BEV coming in 2027.
NM will be able to get allocations then...
I had a RAV4 as a loaner and I really liked it. I wouldn’t mind having one at all, but Toyota is genuinely awful to deal with.
When you’re spending that much money on something, it seems ludicrous to have to mostly get what you want or to have to settle on things, particularly when they’re ordering stuff from the factory. I get the allotment thing, sure. It just seems dumb if you have customers willing to wait for what they want to just give them what they want and work it into your damn schedule. It can’t be that hard to make this someone’s job, or even to make this a computer’s job. Yeesh.
I completely agree. I don’t understand why some manufacturers don’t let you order what you want through the dealer. It took months to find my husbands Supra and my son waited 8 months for anI had a RAV4 as a loaner and I really liked it. I wouldn’t mind having one at all, but Toyota is genuinely awful to deal with.
Elantra N. My best friend was able to walk into a BMW dealer, pick exactly the colors and features she wanted and she had her car in 8 weeks. And don’t get me started on them limiting the number available in a particular trim level. 4Runner TRD PROS seem to be about 3000 a year. Now I suppose I can understand them limiting the number of GR Supras since they are their Halo cars but a 4Runner trim. Really? It shouldn’t be this hard to buy a car. People should not universally have the same type of horror stories when it comes to finding and purchasing a vehicle.
Here is what Scout was asking suggestions for:
Our Accessories Team is looking for feedback on your top five accessories you would like to us offer on the new Scouts. This would include factory accessory bumpers, brush guards, interior protection, interior organizers, roof racks, roof tents, etc., etc. Basically things that don't initially come with the car but would be nice to either order special or after you purchase the car to add to it.
The aftermarket will be flooded with these types of add-ons.
