Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Will the Scout traveler offer a more aggressive looking version similar to the high end bronco? with the extended wheel wells etc.?
Extended wheel wells and fat flaring fenders don't make a vehicle any more capable, not to mention way less efficient. I hope Scout doesn't cheapen the brand with an overbaked version that looks aggressive for the sake of looking aggressive. Every Bronco I see with flares looks like it is hiding something. Just my 02 cents though, to each their own.

Agreed. Should be about performance and color or badging only. Let the individual buyers bolt on a bunch of stuff after the fact

I’ve been driving my wife’s Honda pilot this week and the glass area in the roof is Big-not Scout big-but big. I had all the windows down today as well as the sun roof open and it was awesome(she rarely ever does that) and I realized that early on we (forum members) were really disappointed that the roof wasn’t going to come off. I realized as much as the sunroof being open today was great-the cabana option in the traveller will be nearly 2-1/2 times larger so it is going to be a HUGE opening for nice days. While I’m a bit apprehensive of the cabana roof I decided today I’m definitely gonna have to gamble on it.

It’s nice when you make a decision on something. Good for you!

I have the Panoramic Vista Roof, half of which opens in my 2024 Lincoln. I just leave the sunshade open. I like the roominess it gives the cabin. I am looking forward to the glass roof in the Traveler.

I have a ClearLidz after market roof on my Wrangler. I love the open air feel without the wind blowing my hair and I love being able to see the rain. I never open sunroofs so the glass roof in the Traveler will be perfect for me.

I’ve actually been considering glass over cabana lately because road noise on highway can be obnoxious. While I do enjoy the open air feel and breeze, we also often get snow here so something I will have to consider.

This is the glass roof in the BMW iX. It gives a very open feeling. This is not my particular car, but it is a good picture. This picture shows the glass fogged.

Its a $1500 upgrade on the Gen2 Rivians, and looks like you need the LG Pack to get the option:

"The most exciting feature coming on the refreshed R1 models is the Dynamic glass roof, which costs $1,500 on Adventure models and is included with the Ascend package. It's unavailable on the Dual Motor with Standard pack, though, so you'll have to upgrade to at least the Large pack to add it to your configuration. The Dynamic glass roof has an electrochromic coating that switches from crystal clear to opaque at the touch of a button."

Rivians do the same thing. I was wondering if the Scouts were going to have this feature as well because of the VW relationship with Rivian
Not likely, the VWG/Rivian joint venture is about deep electrical architecture, nothing above that. And the electrical part is down at the hidden motor and battery management level. Everything up at the UI level is pure Scout.

We will just have to wait and see with the glass roof is like in the Scout. All I know is I don’t like regular roofs. They make me feel like I’m driving in a cave.

We are all different. We have had sunroofs in our last three cars and opened each just once to try it. Kind of a backwards California and southwest thing, we don’t like the sun beating down on us. Plus the extra opportunity for glare. We will be glad to get a steel roof.

I am really hoping for a good balance between tech and function. Your typical all weather mats blind spot monitoring, and other items are key to most likely things in base models today. I am looking for roof racks, custom coloring, traction boards, locking toolbox areas, ports for charging devices, GPS tracking, and options for working out of the back of the truck bed.

I am so glad they have options. There really is something for everyone.
