Jason Jackson restored his dad's Scout II after it sat for over 30 years outside. He restored it without him knowing and suprised him with it. Here is the video:

From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Amazing video. For all those on this forum that still have an old Scout-you should remember how blessed you are! I recall the effort my dad and I put into keeping our Scout on the road but my dad, as practical and hands on as he is was wise enough to realize the rust had defeated us. PA winter salt is a corrosive foe and it beat many a Scout.
All the bondo on the lower panels and rails, all the rivets to rebuild the rear storage deck, the dual glass packs. So many memories. Can’t wait for the new one. Now the wait seems that much longer. (Insert long nostalgic sigh here!). Can only hope my dad is still here on earth when the new one arrives!

Oh this has me all up my feels. It’s a beautiful love story when you think about it. A family’s love for each other and their Scout being a physical representation of that love and connection. What a treasure to have something like that so full of memories to be able to pass down through the generations.
Bravo to the team at Scout for bringing us such a touching story. I hope and pray they are able to all be together in 3 years to pick up their brand new Scout and continue their family story.

Great video, this is a great example that it's just more than a car-both Son and Dad capture that beautifully. These old Scouts represent adventure, work, and family. What a great story, a great reminder that those small moments have an ever lasting impact. While my family never had a Scout growing up I had fond memories of riding in the back with my siblings on road trips in a station wagon and riding in the front seats of dentside Ford climbing a hill next to a overpass bridge and going offroad on logging trails.
The Scout II was a rugged offroad vehicle that served it's purpose out in the fields but once cleaned up, was a great family vehicle to take out on the night of the town. The Jackson story is simple and genuine and I'm sure they won the hearts when featured on CBS. There's something about a classic truck/SUV that we love so much and I think it's the reminders it serves.

It's clear who Scout is going after with this ad and it's a group other EV manufacturers ignore. I applaud Scout for reaching for that untapped potential and do believe there are buyers in there. With that said, Keogh has equated Rivian to Patagonia while Scout is Carhartt. Based on the feel of the launch event and this video, they are no doubt going down that path. With that said, as a reservation holder I'd like Keogh to know I'm posting this while wearing a Patagonia fleece.

I don’t own either of those brands, but loved that video. The focus on the family is what gets me.

Really awesome video! Love the shot with the scout in the background as they are fly fishing.
I love how with every video or release we get it becomes more and more clear how much the new Scouts are focused on the working class just like the old ones. And how Scouts are centered around family. Also love how he was a Vietnam Vet, showing the backbone of our country and the way that Scout Motors supports our big beautiful country.
