Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Heck I think County Fairs could be fun. You get a wide variety of people over multiple days.

We have the McLean County Fair.

Oh and it’s the 100th Anniversary of Route 66. They are doing all kinds of events in Bloomington/Normal Illinois since it runs through town. A tie in with that anniversary would be awesome.

I like the Rte 66 idea. You could just about do a Scout event outside of Rivian's plant! :ROFLMAO:

Really though, Scout doesn't need more preorders at the moment since they're nowhere close to ready. Throw the existing preorder holders a bone and do some strategic, small, invite-only events in areas. Nothing fancy, just casual events where you can see the vehicles in person. A tent at a local brewery/vineyard, local park, restaurant, etc with a Scout employee to keep people from drooling on the goods. I suspect it'd go a long ways towards turning preorders into actual sales.

One of the most fun events I've been to was a Scion event before the FR-S came out. They had some of the pre-production test cars on-hand and set up an autocross in a local parking lot, teaming up with Yokohama. I suspect they learned a lot from real-world testing in the hands of the average Joe. With my background in auto-X and road racing, I beat the snot out of their test cars and came away so impressed that I bought one. It'd be incredible if Scout did something similar with their validation vehicles later on. Bring out samples to local off-road parks and let people put them through their paces. Most of those vehicles go to a crusher afterwards anyway, so why not let the dumb masses show Scout where improvements need to be made. There is a big difference between a test engineer running a vehicle to its limits and a redneck in the backwoods of Montgomery County, North-by-God Carolina running a vehicle to its limits. :ROFLMAO:

Literally anywhere in Tennessee, or parts of southern Kentucky, or northern Alabama. I can take any day of the week of any month to go see these vehicles, especially now that my partner is finally come around to the idea me getting one and wants to see them in person

Oh crap, are we supposed to tell our partner we reserved one? That one time where I had a vehicle delivered that she didn't know about really didn't go well, so I'm thinking the answer is yes... It's just a reservation though, so maybe not.

They’re helping me make sure I don’t waste my money on things I don’t need so I can save better, plus they will probably be cosigning with me so our names are on both vehicles that we own, and given that regardless sometime in the next couple of years, I intended to buy a $60-90k truck there needs to be a decent amount of time for them to come around to the idea. They’ve stopped rolling their eyes every time I bring up scout.😹

My husband said the other day now he wants my Scout as much as I do. Good thing he doesn’t like driving big vehicles, he’s been driving 2-seater sports cars since we were newly married. I think it’s because he realizes how much more comfortable it will be and we won’t have to yell to be heard like we do in the Wrangler. 😹

I've heard that hearing everything the spouse says can be bad for a relationship. Thankfully my wife is pretty deaf**, but young enough and stubborn enough to refuse hearing aids since they're an "old person" thing.

**I'm not making fun of her, she grew up in a racing engine shop and legitimately has hearing loss.

Get her some of the new AirPods. They have a hearing test in the iPhone and they act as a hearing aid.

My husband is the same. Won’t consider a hearing aid but was happily taking the hearing test on the iPhone. 😹

I’m partially deaf from being raised by someone who was idiot about hearing protection. Didn’t wear it for firearms, chainsaws, power tools, concerts, music, etc., But hearing aids give me incredibly bad migraines. One of the best things ever for our 30+ year relationship is the reduction in road noise while on road trips because we’re in an EV. I no longer check out while wondering what she’s saying.

Have you tried the AirPods to see if that feature will work and not give you migraines?

I sent Jamie info on a large event about an hour north of Nashville. Event will draw 8000 people (and Scout enthusiasts) have open live concerts, outdoor events and have a great opportunity to show it to outdoor folks. For $200 they can get a 10x20 booth or for $1000 they could do their big set up and you don’t even need to pay to get to the vendor area. I’m n Pa but I think tho location and event are prime and it would kind of be a return to the launch vicinity. Would be happening early June.

That sounds awesome!

Given the announcement event was held in Franklin, im hopeful they'll do something in the early days for Tennessee, once we're looking at experience centers or at the very least test drives later this year or next year
