when does production begin ..pLEASE HURRY UP

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Would like to know when production will start what month and year?
The current presumed production is mid to late 2027.

We all anxiously awaiting production. I’m here on this forum to pass the time and post my wishes for my Scout as SM has stated they are reading our ideas in this forum.

A couple great follows are @Jamie@ScoutMotors and @CP1@scoutmotors they keep us updated with the goings on around here.

Welcome again!

Is it possible/feasible that based on calendar dates, what would be an estimated delivery time line for the pre-orders? Since the numbers are random, I'm guessing the sequence is by dates.

Jamie posted this a bit ago. So I would think delivery would depend not only on when you ordered, but what since they are going to start with one model and limited trims and ramp up as appropriate.

Which probably means the Traveler will be first since that is the lions share of the pre-orders.

That’s what I think. Also I wonder does that mean one model, the Traveler or also BEV or Harvester first so they are truly just focusing on one model. If that’s the case I think BEV first just because they started developing that one first so it seems it should be further along in development than the Harvester. But what do I know.

It’s whether they do BEV first because they started developing it first or Harvester because it has the most orders. Hoping it’s BEV since I have the least popular order of Terra and BEV!

I’m leaving towards BEV being first because I imagine less potential issues from that model initially versus having an engine and battery combination.

Definitely makes sense. And that portion would be a great starting amount to scale up with

I agree with that thinking. Might also get early adopters to try a BEV instead of waiting longer

I wonder when it’s time to order if they will tell us what’s coming first and what trims and colors etc. so if we want to try and go sooner rather than later we can order based on that. Like don’t get me wrong I love love PBY, but if it’s not going to be out till year two or later I may decide to pick another color.

2 different strategies. The BEV is simpler - so they in theory could get it to market easier. If it knocks it out of the park with reviews, it could possibly sway some people from the EREV to the BEV version. Or, do the EREV as it has the vast majority of reservations. Which way they go is a toss up. It might depend on if they work out the nuts and bolts of the Harvester early enough.

Flip side (which I don't like to think about) is battery tech. There is less need for the latest and greatest batteries in the EREV. If they are just a few months away from using better battery tech in the BEV - it could be a blessing in desguise if they release the Harvester first. But I really don't think a 500 mile battery will be that close to ready for Scout to wait for it. Plus if I was a Harvester buyer, I might be a bit frustrated in the EV came out 6 months later with the same range of the Harvester (and without cold or hot weather sensitivity). But lets face it, solid state has been 3 years away for a decade by now.
