What's the current timeline??

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Found it. This is the statement from Scout regarding that article that came out that said 2030.

Keep in mind they’ve shown the first frames coming together on the line and it’s mid 2026. That’s a full year for builds, final testing and working out the kinks in factory production. I suspect 1st quarter 2028 for the start of customer deliveries in heavier sense and maybe late 2028 for Terra but just me thinking through it. Guess only SM or Jamie can answer that accurately

The new plant building the ladder frames for Scout is expected to be finished in 2027. It's about 60 miles south of Blythewood.
Okay guys, ladder frame? Exactly what is that and this sounds like good news. Things are growing nicely.

That's the vehicle frame the body, suspension, battery, etc bolt to. So far, it doesn't appear that the plant has even started construction. Listed at 4100 St Matthews Rd in Orangeburg, SC. Looks to be a building pad adjacent to the Norfolk Southern line, developed for potential customers, but nothing updated on any of the satellite views I can find. Probably locked up in regulatory purgatory.

This announcement was made 7 months ago, so they better get a move on now that we're seeing a body coming out of the Blythewood factory.

This is quite surprising to me. The frames are gong to be built offsite by a 3rd party supplier? Considering the size of the Blythewood plant, I would think something as critical (and heavy/expensive to ship) would be built onsite? Maybe I'm influenced by 16 years with Tesla and their maniacal focus on doing everything themselves (er, being vertically integrated) that it feels odd

Apparently it's common. According to Google, Wranglers and Broncos have their frames built about an hour away from their assembly plants by third-party suppliers.

That’s great to hear. That should time out perfectly
