What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I am in multi-level vitamin sales. Its a great deal if anyone wants to DM me I can start you in our pyramid. You know if you sign up five of your best friends then they sign up five of thier best friends i make money while you do all the work. Haha just kidding. Its a Utah thing.

I started a small company that helps manufacturing companies with EPA/State environmental compliance. Mostly Toxic Release Inventory reporting (TRI Form R).
Like how I avoided the word " consultant" ?
Should I just send you a pile of cash and my social security number?

I grew up working in the extended family restaurants. I was dirt poor but they had good middle class lives and mom and I were thankful for the work. Was first in my line to go to college, worked my way through a chemistry degree and then went into tech sales because it paid the most and I've always been into computers. Have done that for about 30 years and hope to stop soon as it's hard mentally to keep up with things everyday now that I'm in my early 50's.

Hard work! Great job in your endeavors!

My wife’s early career. I can’t do what you people do 😀
I started life as a marine engineer. Pretty much no one looks at me and can picture me changing a cylinder head on a 50,000 hp diesel engine, lol. I’m liking my SQL and PowerQuery, lol. Weirdly, both careers have similarities though. You’re problem solving. Work methodically, logically, pay attention to details. Every day is a different type of issue. There is always a solution. But now I don’t smell like diesel or work in a 110 degree environment in the middle of an ocean with guys who should either sew their pockets shut or wear underwear.

That also describes a lot of software engineering. Creative development is generally a small part of the total effort. Most of the time is spent testing before release and fixing bugs after release. A fondness for puzzles of all kinds is a help.

I work at a major brewery. Beer is my passion! Definitely can nerd out on the science side of it.
Beer question sorry as it's off topic. So the goofy laws here in Utah won't let breweries sell any beer in kegs over 5%. So all breweries have to can or bottle there beer and sell it at State run liquor stores. So if a brewery has a bar they can only sell 5% beer on tap. Same for any bar owner. So to get a fresh draft of 9% double imperial IPA is not possible. So stupid. So is it possible to even brew a hoppy iPa that's any good at 5%. I don't think it is. Probably why the oldest and biggest brewery Wasatch Brew is sutting down.

I’m in CO so every time we go to Moab etc I crack up about the crazy rules. Can you make it hoppy sure, but it becomes a cost issue at that point. Grains / hops / etc have all been getting more expensive every year.
