What accessories would the supplier park install?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Now that SM has announced the supplier park with a shop that would install things on our Scout after it left the factory and before we pick it up, what kinds of things would we like to see there?

I’m thinking things like Rallye stripes and PPF, but what else?

Of course a lot of this could be installed at home too, but here are some things:

Upgraded wheels / tires
Rock sliders / Running Boards
Racks + Rack accessories for bikes, skis, kayaks, cargo etc
Rubber Floor Mats
Winch
PPF / Tint / Stripes
Cargo stuff / Backpack / Toolbox
Perhaps optional LED Lighting
Interior storage
Interior screen protection

  • Screen Protector
  • Interior Trunk Molle Panels, with Yankum Ropes.
  • Definitely tint and some PPF for the drive home
  • Lift Kit and wheels.
  • Ill also will take my wall charger, and wall outlet charger.

For me ceramic window tint, maybe a screen protector, ceramic coating of the interior if needed, and PPF would be the main ones (with options for if you want partial or full PPF). I would probably go with the front, including mirrors, and then around the door handles, as well as the rocker panel and maybe the truck tailgate as well. For the window tint it would also depend on the heat rejection as well as percentages available as it would be done in SC, and I'm not sure what their tint laws are, but could they do darker if other states have different lower legal limits? I guess the only other issue compared with local shops is what about warranty, and would we have to go all the way back to Scout HQ to get anything fixed if it wasn't applied properly etc?

Not sure if this would be part of normal pickup or done at the supplier park but I would also want a spray on bed liner and hard folding tonneau cover. Auto retracting is nice, but I'd be worried about long term reliability.

I need to keep saving!

Window tint would be nice, I agree. I don’t see that happening for many reasons unfortunately. I’d definitely prefer to have Scout apply mine, but I don’t believe it’ll be offered unless I’ve missed some sort of announcement.

We have no announcements on what will be offered in the supplier park. We are just putting together our Wi$h Li$t (as Taylor Swift would say). 😹

At a minimum, they will be doing the dealer add-ons that Direct Marketing is missing out on. Stripes, tint, wraps, custom bumper, winch, roof rack, misc other stuff (cargo box, water carrier), aux lighting, perhaps the general dealer up charge crap like scotch guard and undercoat). Perhaps they might go past that, but the further past that they go, the more time, space, and client interaction is required.

For instance, my F250 - I had the dealer get the Ranch Hand bumper replacement installed before I took possession of the truck. They might have made a few dollars off of that - but it saved me a lot of hassle (even though the Ranch Hand factory is closer to my house than the Ford dealer was). Plus, when they fucked it up, they were obligated to fix it (that took 3 months).

The varying state laws about window tinting are a mess. It would surprise me if Scout chose to deal with that; this is best left to local experts, IMO.

My short list off the top of my head would be something like:

All weather mats (cargo area mat as well if I decide on Traveler).
Rock sliders (hopefully a robust slider that also offers a small step and maybe even some parking lot door ding protection).
Skid plates
Winch
Bed cover if I decide to go with Terra.
I’d consider a suspension lift if they decided to offer it.

Here are the things I would buy from the supplier park, if they are not offered by Scout:
  • Professionally installed spray bed liner for the Terra
  • Tonneau cover
  • Adjustable towing hitch
  • Rubber floor mats
But, I expect the supplier park to sell lots of other things:
  • Truck bed toolboxes
  • Running boards
  • Rock sliders
  • Bumper upgrades
  • Integrated winches
  • Integrated air compressors
  • Roof racks (with all the accessories! :D ) and other rooftop cargo solutions (cargo boxes, storage bags, that sort of thing)
  • Bed caps
  • Trailer hitch carriers

I could see a low and high % for light transmittance that would cover 80% of buyers and if you are an outlier you just get it done locally. PA is pretty strict but would prefer to have it done before I bring it home

NJ has “changed” the law. No NJ inspector can issue a fixit ticket anymore, but they reject an inspection stick. Cops allow full tint all around, no cops cares about it. All that needs to be visible is the Inspection sticker.

Got this from a NJ inspector and my tint guy. So my state is good. lol. Until the po po show up in my rear view.
