Taking bets on the new color of the Traveler Concept to be seen soon...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Me either. While I’ve bought some cars off the lot I have ordered others or gotten the dealer to swap with another dealership so I got what I wanted
But if what you want is rare there’s nothing they can trade for and you can’t order then that doesn’t work. Our Supra is 1 of 4952 for that year. Toyota doesn’t let you order. Same with Hyundai. You can leave a deposit so you are next in line. My son’s Performance Blue Elantra N took 8 months for him to get. I knew every Elantra N in that color that was coming in within 500 miles but dealers wouldn’t trade because they were sold already.

This is why I’m so glad we can order our Scout. If I have to wait, fine, but I want what I want.

Elantra N. So you are next in line for whatever color comes in, take it or leave it. Or next in line to order what you want?

Hyundai doesn’t let you order. He was next in line to get a Performance Blue when the dealership got one. And Hyundai’s N cars are made in South Korea and have to come by boat and then go on a train and then get put on a truck. I was checking every car site, dealership website everyday. The dealership he left the deposit with was supposed to get one in February. He had left his deposit in June. I found one in December at a dealership that didn’t take deposits and happened to call the day it came in. When we went to look at it it still had all the plastic all over the seats and stickers everywhere. It hadn’t even gone through their dealer checklist. So he got that one and we got his deposit back.

We bought 4 cars in about an 8 month period that year between my husband and kids. When I tell you I’m done with dealerships, I’m done with dealerships.

I’m so happy Scout is DTC.

It’s been interesting here locally and lately. Our closest Toyota dealer has like 20 cars in their lot and most are Tacos. When my wife was looking last year they told her anything she wanted would need ordered-no matter the model. Two other dealers within an hour had close to 100 vehicles or more on their lots and they were willing to trade with others. Our local Honda dealer was trying the same order approach and it was BS. Others within an hour had numerous choices-though nobody within 500 miles had the color combo we wanted in the level we wanted which made me wonder if Honda was even producing that combo. Either way it made me wonder why they thought ordering was a better business practice? What if your car died and you need a new one tomorrow-those dealers are losing a ton of business. Maybe they figure less overhead and their “floor plan”/vehicle holdings are reduced so even if selling less they aren’t tied up with cars sitting around but just makes no sense. We just looked elsewhere

Dealers just make no sense in general.

Oh how we hate dealers. Let me count the ways. 🤣
