Just a quick note that we may occasionally skip a month or combine a month here and there, depending on whether we can do photography inside the factory. At times we may have proprietary stuff at the factory that we aren't ready/can't show yet. But we'll still have plenty to talk about.

All I can say is WOW! As impressive as it is from the outside it’s magnitude levels more on the inside.

I also see two "small" new buildings starting on the north end. What will these be used for? Groundskeeping? Maintenance crews?
By my eye, the rectangular one looks to be ~60'x250' with some offices added to the end, so definitely not that small, despite looking miniscule with everything else around it.

With so many trucks and office/trailers scattered about everywhere, I have no clue how I'd ever find my lost tape measure on this kind of job site.

You’d have the pink one. That’s why they make those. Easy to find and macho dudes won’t steal a pink tape

Based on the amount of water in the retention basin and proximity to end of plant it looks perfect to test the water fording on each vehicle as it exits fabrication

You laugh, but I still often carry an old LeverLock from the 90s that WILL NOT DIE. Started out red like the picture below, but has faded to a nice pink color now. Beat up and a decent bit of rust on the tape, but still not broken yet! Still my favorite tape measure ever for house framing.

So when you open the article. The one photo has new building back at far left corner with what looks like petitioned lifts-is this different construction? Don’t recall ever noticing those before. Should we all speculate? I’ll assume not Scout but also hope it’s the lodging and experience center support where the visitor experience rigs are kept ?

I have never followed the start up of a motor vehicle before (I was late to the Rivian game) and most certainly have never followed the start up of a brand new facility to build it. The amount of engineering and planning to goes into building this facility is mindboggling. They must have hundreds of robots. Getting them all to manufacture truck parts at the same time within spec? Amazing. Just amazing.

I remember reading 700+ robots! Definitely mind-boggling.

My second design job out of college was a huge QVC warehouse, probably the biggest Lancaster has ever seen and it looks tiny compared to how big this is. Having been to BMW I’m curious how big their facility in SC is compared to this. I think Scout has to be MUCH bigger
