Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’ve never had a vehicle with leather.

I’m never going to wash off or even effectively brush off all the crap that I get covered in when working on the ranch. Nor am I ever going to do that before climbing into the truck after digging the vehicle out of a mud bog. Would leather survive me?

Has anyone who does a lot of work and play in mud, grime, dirt, etc., had experience with leather? How does it hold up? How does it hold up in a dry, hot, sunny climate?
I have found leather stands up much better than fabric seats.

As a mechanic I preferred it for my own personal vehicles because grease cleaned up far easier than scrubbing cloth material.

Even for my off-roading and getting muddy days, leather is my pick. Just rub it down with some amoral cleaning wipes once in an while and you’re done.

I've had an even split of vehicles with fabric, and with leather. And, to be honest, both have had issues.

My 1997 Jeep, was splitting/cracking when I bought it (drivers seat, outside edge of the bottom seat cushion). And now, the seat back has also cracked/split, and is tearing. Its pretty bad honestly. The seatback has a big section that is maybe a few inches square that is just foam now :/.

BUT, the flipside, is my 2005 Mazda 6 Wagon had a cloth interior... that was also struggling. The drivers seat was torn/frayed on the left edge of the seat bottom, and the left edge of the left bolster on the seatback and the foam was crumbling out of it. Plus the headliner was sagging something fierce.

My current 2022 Hyundai Tucson has cloth seats, and honestly they're great. Clean up super easy, and have been holding up perfectly.

My brand new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 has perforated leather seats... and they're the light color. So durability is one of the things we're worried about with kids. But so far, so good (lol, its not been 72 hrs yet :P).

I prefer leather as well. I can't even remember a time I didn't have leather in my vehicles.

Lighter color leather still holds up well. My kids are feral and my tan leather seats in two Land Cruisers survived them.

The one thing that comes to mind is if you choose black leather seats and have kids is sunscreen. It can be a pain to clean off on darker colors.

True that. Here in the land of sunscreen I have always ordered tan and grayish interiors until my current Lincoln. It has black interior and it shows wear, dirt and general grime much more than my previous vehicles. The vehicle is only 12 months old and I felt the need to clean the front seat leathers already twice, even with my strict no food or drink in my car; except take home on the rubber mat in the back seat floor.

One benefit of an EV with a frunk: You can put the food in the frunk and keep it and its smell out of the cabin. :)

I thought I loved the "burnt orange" but this is insanely slick color combo. Nice job Scout.
Same. That color is called Tahitian Red. I’m still holding out hope for YELLOW, but if no yellow at this point it’s between Tahitian Red and Pacific Mist.

I’ve had leather and vinyl and am as blue collar as they come. My last truck went cloth and my work truck went cloth.
I soooo miss my leather. The cloth in work truck is stained (lunch and breakfast). The cloth in Ram wearing at seams.
Leather and vinyl just holds up and cleans better.
Yes HOT in Summer may want to cover

Exactly. I have black leather in the Wrangler and that Clear Lidz roof so I got official MOPAR covers for the front seats. Leather protected, seats don’t get hot.

As promised, here is the first new color, Pacific Mist, on the Traveler and the first part of the retheme. A few of the details include new Pacific Mist paint in a shade of blue. The original reveal wheels are now black, matching well with the new black roof and black door handles. Also new are concept multi-function roof rails, giving a hint at future roof-mounted accessories.

The design team decided to push the envelope with an interior finished in a Terracotta leather and "denim-inspired" fabric. In person, it looks good with this exterior color. I'll snap some more pictures here in New York and post them later.

I love the wood interior, but I don’t know why, but the black fabric looks very good
