From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

I have found leather stands up much better than fabric seats.
As a mechanic I preferred it for my own personal vehicles because grease cleaned up far easier than scrubbing cloth material.
Even for my off-roading and getting muddy days, leather is my pick. Just rub it down with some amoral cleaning wipes once in an while and you’re done.
I've had an even split of vehicles with fabric, and with leather. And, to be honest, both have had issues.
My 1997 Jeep, was splitting/cracking when I bought it (drivers seat, outside edge of the bottom seat cushion). And now, the seat back has also cracked/split, and is tearing. Its pretty bad honestly. The seatback has a big section that is maybe a few inches square that is just foam now :/.
BUT, the flipside, is my 2005 Mazda 6 Wagon had a cloth interior... that was also struggling. The drivers seat was torn/frayed on the left edge of the seat bottom, and the left edge of the left bolster on the seatback and the foam was crumbling out of it. Plus the headliner was sagging something fierce.
My current 2022 Hyundai Tucson has cloth seats, and honestly they're great. Clean up super easy, and have been holding up perfectly.
My brand new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 has perforated leather seats... and they're the light color. So durability is one of the things we're worried about with kids. But so far, so good (lol, its not been 72 hrs yet
).

I really want to see bronze wheels on this color. (Hint, hint to anyone who could make that happen on a computer.)
I prefer leather as well. I can't even remember a time I didn't have leather in my vehicles.
