Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

There’s only one meaning for PBY. PALE BUTTER YELLOW. The best color.
What if it’s Purple Befriends Yellow and we get a nice deep smoky purple Traveler with butter yellow rally stripes… No chance in hell I’d buy a butter-colored car, but this could be quite stunning if the purple is right.

Okay this is what happened when I used that as a prompt in Gemini.

And it’s not that I don’t like purple on a vehicle, just that I have already had it. I had a 2007 BMW 328i in Barbera Red Metallic. It looked purple. I still don’t know how they called that color Red in any way, shape or form.

And we have always wanted a yellow car, but it just never worked out. They never had them on the lot. wanted a yellow S2000, got white. A yellow Xterra, got black. A yellow Wrangler, got black. A yellow Supra, got Tungsten (grey/silver). I want my yellow car!!!

This was the BMW color I had.

That got me thinking about what color cars I've had...

Yellow
School Bus Yellow
Orange
Red
Blue
Green
Silver
Gray
Black
White

The yellows and oranges showed the least dirt, followed by dark gray and then silver.

Edit: That got me thinking about brands I've owned. Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford, MINI, Honda, BMW, Scion, Subaru, Mazda, Volkswagen & Holden. I get around a bit.

And that’s why I want yellow. I have never had yellow.

We have had:
White
Black
Silver/grey
Midnight blue/black
Barbera Red Metallic (purple)
Sierra Red Metallic (orangey red)
BMW green

Come on PBY, SM don’t let me down!!

My first new car purchase was a cranberry purple color. In life purple is my favorite color but on a scout -maybe a paler, Smokey purple would be good but on a large SUV I’d be dreaming it turns into Barney-makes me suffer through that damn song then proceeds to eat me (at least I’d be out of my misery ) …..”I love you, you love me…..” 🤣
