Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

S it hand painted? My wife has a small one from Germany that is painted. They are cool
This was in my grandmas kitchen and I got this when she passed away. It hangs in the pantry of every house I have had since.

Not painted. Just a nice cast bronze bell with a leather collar.
My parents have one from Switzerland as well. I was just there in January and was told by locals that it is unusual for them to be sold as those bells are somewhat considered heirlooms. My father told me he bought it from the farmer right off the cow. Knowing him that may be somewhere between 50% and 100% true.

I have an idea. Just go with me here. So 30 years ago for our anniversary my husband upgraded my wedding ring. I went to the jeweler I still buy from today, that’s how good of an experience it was.

He brought out the catalog box of diamonds wrapped in the little papers. There was one I liked and he said you need to see it in the sun. He asked me to hold out my hand and he took the loose diamond and put it between my fingers and said go outside and look at it in the sun. Take as long as you would like to look at it.

First thought, you are really going to let me take this diamond outside by myself. Second thought, don’t drop it and lose it.

Love the diamond, the store, the owner and have made multiple upgrades to get to the ring I’m wearing today.

For some reason that popped into my head today and how Pacific Mist and Silo Green are so different in the sun. It’s difficult to really get an idea of what those colors do unless you get to see them in all the different lightning.

What about this idea. At the retail locations what if they had smallish, lightweight panels that could be taken outside by buyers when picking their color. So you can see the color in the sun, shade, etc.

Picking their color is a very important decision and we want to see the color in all different lighting.

Natural light/sun are so critical to lighting (you said lightning but I’m sure you meant other as I don’t want to hold a metal panel outside during lightning 🤣)
All the years I’ve designed homes I not only had buyers take samples outside (both the exterior materials and things like carpeting) but I even found a spot to rest samples at mulch and grass because those effect the way you perceive the earthy colors.
Ideally it would be great to have a kids size scout in each color to see the body lines and then they could sell the mini scouts to parents who want their kids to have off roaders too. But I like the idea, just need the panels to have some similar body lines.

Ideally, regional events with every color scout would be even better. I’m very good at visualizing because of my background but many are not so I’d rather drive 3 hours (max) to see them.
Or another idea-monthly SM factory events where instead of going to receive your Scout you go to order, pay a $500 non refundable fee, do the tour, off-road course and then a lunch and learn then order the scout and it gets delivered to your door when complete and they haul away your trade. Then you could schedule to do your order with acquaintances on the forum or meet other forum members.

Hmmm how about Plum Crazy (if you could steal it away from Dodge,) Wild Berry Metallic, or Smoked Plum, tons of options.

Plum Loco. Plum Loco is my answer.

Okay I asked Gemini to describe the color. It called it deep purple candy. Then I loaded up one of the pictures my husband took at Nats and asked Gemini to make the exterior deep purple candy. This is what it came up with.
