What’s peoples feelings if rear seats capable of reclining flat similar to old vans? And if possible fronts that can recline to meet rears.
Yeah the option of cushions up or down pending on your situationIf typical the rear setbacks fill fold forward and create a flat floor. This is common and has been mentioned quite a bit. Are you thinking something different? If you use the search button and “folding seats” you’ll find quite a few discussions. If something different then that I’d be curious of your thought but think fold flat rear seats ultimately provides more use for both loading /storing goods and laying in the back. If rear of front bench seats could fold rear and flat that would be cool
So the other person doesn’t cook you breakfast? BummerFold flat please. My 2017 Land Rover Discovery folds flat and it comfortably sleeps 2, even if you don't enjoy "benefits" with the other person.
My 2005 Subaru Outback XT was similarly sized, which was helpful when I didn't wish to share "benefits" with the other person.
Welcome! In absence of official details from the manufacturer... here's what the AI says... Hope Scout won't disappoint!View attachment 9858
Good morning! I know everyone is asking for fold flat but it would be really nice if they could also recline a little bit. Like they do in the new 4Runner. Just figured I would ask. Have a great day! What you see in the Traveler concept does not represent where we are going for production. The "shelf" under the cushion of the rear seat cannot exist to have the functionality of a folding rear seat. So, the shelf under the cushion will go away.
Exactly!Sounds like what’s really desired is a multi-directional futon-like frame for the rear seats.
That sounds awesome.Sounds like what’s really desired is a multi-directional futon-like frame for the rear seats.

Unfortunately we can’t trust everything what Chat GPT thinks, because it’s using our forum as a source and there is a tremendous amount of best guesses and swags until Scout confirms these details closer to production. Basically the AI is saying “Trust me bro.” but doesn’t have officially sourced information.
I highly recommend that you look for confirmation on details from @Jamie@ScoutMotors and @CP1@scoutmotors about specifics, because they are Scout employees and do their best to share whatever they can semi-officially to confirm or deny information.
While many of us speculate that the rear seat in the Traveler will fold flat, and you can see the track system on the load floor that mirrors the back of the rear seats, we haven’t gotten official confirmation yet.
Futon at age 22-good. At age 52-bad. But if camping it’s better than inflating a mattress or a bunch of blanket layers to soften the rear floor bedSounds like what’s really desired is a multi-directional futon-like frame for the rear seats.
Rear seat recline-even if 10-15 degrees is an awesome feature for longer tripsThat sounds awesome.
Our Lexus GX’s and Land Cruisers had forward folding, and reclining rear seats. The kids love the reclining feature on longer trips.
I’m only talking about the frame, not the horrifyingly awful mattress of a futon.Futon at age 22-good. At age 52-bad. But if camping it’s better than inflating a mattress or a bunch of blanket layers to soften the rear floor bed
Takes me back to my bachelor days. I’m amazed I don’t have major back issues.Futon at age 22-good. At age 52-bad. But if camping it’s better than inflating a mattress or a bunch of blanket layers to soften the rear floor bed
My husband had one in college when I met him. I think it was basically a requirement back then.Takes me back to my bachelor days. I’m amazed I don’t have major back issues.
I’m surprised there was never a class action lawsuit. Oooh how our younger backs were more forgivingTakes me back to my bachelor days. I’m amazed I don’t have major back issues.
