Received the following picture from my uncle, what year?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Looks like 1961-1964.
Reasoning (the combination of these):
The wipers on top
the fold-down windshield
the pickup form
the door hinges on the exterior
Going a step furthur, this would be considered a Socut 80 as @SpaceEVDriver mentioned, most notably the wipers. I thought I could narrow it down based on color but looks like a variation of blues were offered during this time frame.

Earliest Scout 80 (to July 1962)
  • Sliding door windows only
  • Tapered rear axle shafts
  • Non-removable bulkhead

Scout 80 (1961-1965)

  • "IH" Emblem Centered in the Grill
  • Integrated Lock Cylinder and Door Handle
  • Wipers Mounted on the top of the windshield
  • Door Handles "Twist" Variety
  • Fold-down Windshield
  • Optional roll-up windows

Tagging @Colton_Scout80 as he's pretty knowledgeable of the early Scouts.

This looks identical to my dad's Scout except Dad's had a grill guard. I have posted photos before somewhere on this forum. Looking at the back window tells me this is a small cab pickup. I was thinking his was a Scout 800 but I'll have to research it more. The wipers were vacuum operated and his windshield did not fold down.

The OP's photo color can possibly be deceiving depending how it rendered. I don't see it as blue but possibly light green. The blue could be the sky reflection. If it is the same color as Dad's it is a light green but difficult to tell. Hoping @Colton_Scout80 will weigh in.

Attached are photos of a Scout 800 (not my Dad's) that someone else (must have been Colton) posted earlier but it shows the color I was thinking. However, notice this one the wipers are on the bottom of the windshield.

Found photos of my Dad's Scout. Need to study my Scout Encyclopedia.

In person this scout is more green then blue. At least to my eyes. Here’s another picture and a little history on the Scout.

I was thinking Scout 80 based on the windshield wipers. I also thought the sliding glass windows on the passenger and driver door were only on 61/62's? This appears to be the sliding windows but not certain.
Correction everyone I was looking at the wrong Scout photo! Lol. Sorry for any confusion. Yes that is a Scout 80. I was looking at @bwdavis7 photos and thought that was the Scout we were talking about.
