Package options - what would you like bundled?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I, like everyone on here, would like everything to be à la carte, but I understand for a manufacturer that is probably more difficult and I would imagine they make more money with packages. Otherwise they wouldn’t have packages.

So if we have to have packages what would you want included and be willing to pay for in said package? What would you prefer to be à la carte?

For me I would be willing to pay for an off road appearance package. Upgraded wheel, off-road tire (K03 or similar), tire carrier, rock slider and steel bumper.

À la carte I would like:

1. Roof options
2. Roof rails or rack
3. Interior colors/seat/dash/door materials.
4. Roof color

What does everyone else think? I can’t imagine we won’t have packages, what’s acceptable?

-I could see heated seats, steering wheel and windshield with an adder for cooled seats
-I like the off-road appearance but in lieu of of sliders a running board or hoop steps and I could live without steel bumper but would want a hitch and pin plug
-stand alone roof opening options
-upgraded interior package with premium materials (but any color I want -not gray only comes with white exterior) and the lighting package with some preset colors, etc… and upgraded stereo system (that would also be a stand alone option)
All I can think of for now

I would want roof racks and rails to be stand alone options

In that price range I just assume they will all have at least heated seats. I wouldn’t even expect that to be an option.

Off road package:
- Front locker
- Skids
- 35s 37” off road tires
- 18s or 17s, instead of 20s
- Swaybar disconnect

Things I want that I think should be standard on base vehicles:
- Vinyl/non carpeted floors
- Vinyl/wipedown seats
- Lane centering
- Adaptive cruise (not “self driving”)

[Hyundai(!) has had standard adaptive cruise and lane centering since 2020, even in freaking ELANTRAs, there’s absolutely no reason a 60k+ vehicle doesn’t have it standard at that price. ]

Things I think should be à la carte:
- Heated seats
- V2L/V2H (should be standard)
- Premium sound
- Remote start via fob (no cell connection, no subscription)
- Roof rails
- Front bench
- Digital rear view
- Hitch/plug

I’m undecided on factory optioned winch, compressor, sliders, and high clearance bumpers, but think separating them out into a second tier offroad package makes sense. I’d probably get them if they were competitive to aftermarket priced (or cheaper, as they should be factory).

I know à la cart is more of a dream/wish. @cyure off road package makes sense. That being said I hope all the packages make sense.
I was looking into Accord hybrid before SM revelation.
If you want heads-up display you have to order the touring. But originally (I believe they changed it) only sport had 19” wheels so you had to settle for 17”
Rear diffuser only sport. Red only sport
Rear vents touring only no other model.
My ram in 2012 to get hands free Bluetooth you had to purchase 3500 tech package most cars were already going standard(I know it will be standard)
Please don’t make me change to a thousand way massaging bucket if I want cooling and a bench and with that I lose spare tire🤯🤣

I may be wrong but i believe digital rear view if not already must be standard by the time of release.

I just hope the packages are basic and make sense. Cold weather pack makes sense, off road pack makes sense, off-road appearance package makes sense so long as simpler-like the ‘S’ package on Audis-all cosmetic but no hardcore parts/pieces. And fully agree-to get a roof rack shouldn’t require two other packages to make it work.

Okay besides heated seats and steering wheel what else is in a cold weather package?

I live in Illinois and I’m sure my Jeep doesn’t have heated side view mirrors. Haven’t noticed an issue. It’s tall vehicle. Are heated side view mirrors necessary?
Metropolitan New York I’ll say we get more icing than snow now a days. I have them on my ram got to say for defrosting and defogging I’ve gotten spoiled love them.
I believe my wife’s Willy’s has them

for areas where there are rapid temperature changes in short time spans (think rapid elevation changes) yes heated mirrors are necessary. the change in temps coupled with changes in humidity levels can rapidly fog a mirror up and cause issues. I live in the foot hills of the Appalachians and driving out of my holler (valley) in the mornings up to the main roads consists of a short climb of around 50-100 ft of elevation change, and in that short distance I can go from no fog dry air to moist foggy air masses that quickly fog up the entire car including the mirrors.

Thanks! I was thinking snow and ice more than fogging. I could see that being a helpful feature in that case.

Heated mirrors and windshield? Heated headlights, maybe mud guards? Maybe a reverse camera sprayer to get salt and snow off lense? Stuff I’d like obviously but would make sense in a package. Then have cooled seats as stand alone because nobody in Pheonix wants or needs anything heated-or maybe they do

Also your jeep might have heated mirrors but it's not prominently displayed as an icon. Sometimes the heated mirrors are tied in with the rear window defroster so when you select rear window defrost you also are selecting to heat the mirrors as well. This is how ford does it and from what I've seen ram and gm do as well in their trucks, it's likely the same for jeep.

It can get cold in the desert at night. There can be big temperature swings. So maybe some of the features.

As I told one of the reps in Fort Worth this week, I think a mom-mobile version of the traveler would do very well.

I don’t mean anything pejorative by that. I would be the market for that type of vehicle. We don’t overland or go on off road adventures. But a large SUV with 350 miles of range and creature comforts that a family wants seems to be the jam for a lot of suburbanites. My family being one of them.

I know mine has the cold weather package for 2013. This is what it was.
