  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hello, I own a defense company with some pretty unique facilities. I would absolutely love to speak with someone with the outreach team. I have a pretty hard to find proving ground and would love to provide some insight into a needed industry. While I am absolutely pre ordering a couple of these vehicles for person use, I am very interested in using it at our facilities as well.

Welcome to the community. @Jamie@ScoutMotors typically is the ones I ask my questions to around here. He’s probably a good place to start anyway. Welcome again!

You got me, my curiosity is engaged. Can you share some of the unique requirements you would be interested in for a vehicle like the Traveler or Terra?

As you can imagine we don't advertise a lot. But , one of our proving grounds is over 5,000 Acres with both subterrain and above ground. We often have personnel that will camp out for several days at a time while doing testing. We operate over 200 tactical vehicles that include domestic and foreign tanks, APCs, etc.

Generating power at some of our test areas is easy, hauling fuel out there is hard sometimes. So this vehicle being able to easily charge at these sites, but carrying around fuel for the "camp site" generator for the makeshift campsites is VERY appealing.

There was also the bench seat which has quiet a bit of value to our teams.

I can assure you that we absolutely will do at least one like that. It's almost compulsory. We have such a setup on a el camino , yes really. Was for a company July 4 party about 7 years ago. It still sits out at the site.

Sounds like the Scouts (or any BEV for that matter) will be excellent for your needs.
  • With no engine noise and no emissions, using a BEV should be nicer then a ICE when operating below ground (and above ground too! :)).
  • Depending on how you setup camp, a BEV can reduce the need for a camp site generator fuel by eliminating the need for the generators altogether. Using the V2L (Vehicle to Load) capabilities, the BEV can provide just as much power as a typical campsite generator. And if you have bigger generators and need to move a lot of fuel, the Traveler and Terra should both be able to haul lots.
  • Several people on the forums have said they want to use the Scouts for off-road camping, so I bet the Scout folks will put some thought into adding features to help with camping.
  • As for mounting "equipment" on them, as BEVs they will be heavy with a low center of gravity. So they should provide a nice stable platform when using your "equipment". ;)
But, would you let us pester you a bit more? Is there a feature that is not available in current vehicles that could reasonably be added to the Scouts that would benefit you? Something for camping, or hauling, or something else? You know, one of those suggestions where someone says "If they had just done _____, this truck would be so much more useful". And then everyone else replies with "Oh! I never thought of that. Why don't they do that?" Considering your use case, I'll bet there is a least one idea you have.

This has me picturing a whole new thread where instead of people just wanting a diesel harvester, they want a multi-fuel harvester, CTIS, blackout lights, 24V NATO plugs, surgepro/shielding/faraday on the important LRUs... Actually come to think of it, this thing is really close to being a modern CUCV/LSSV compared to any other hybrid/EV.

Some company could take the Scouts and do that. Like that company that would take Wranglers and turn them into a Brut Pickup before the Gladiator existed.

Let's get a few of them out in the field before we give anyone any bright ideas.

Ok, I’m picturing a pickup wrapped in denim . . .
