June 2026 Scout Production Center Update

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Good morning! I know this topic kind of got derailed but it got me thinking. SM very much highlights the community of Blythewood. For those of us traveling to do a factory pick up it would be nice if they worked in conjunction with the city chamber of commerce or visitors bureau and came up with a guide that listed local hotels, businesses and points of interest. It could be emailed to us when we get confirmation of our pick up date so we can make our travel arrangements and plan our trips.

Based on my extensive SC travels, I'd guess the official pie of South Carolina is Little Debbie's Oatmeal Creme Pie, followed closely by either a pecan pie or chocolate chess pie.
I don't know.... I've definitely had my share of pecan pie in SC. Supposedly tomato pie is a thing; but, I've never had it, nor have I ever said, "I could go for some tomato pie, right now!"

Oh what about this! I know we have talked about having the factory having camping sites or yurts or places we can stay on property, but SM may not want a bunch of new owners wandering the property Willy nilly.

What if they work with local hotels to provide shuttles from the airport to the hotel and the factory. That way if you fly in you don’t need to worry about a rental car or an uber. The hotel could have a couple Scout branded fast chargers in the front so after you pick up your Scout you have reserved parking at the hotel with a charger. Good for the hotel. Good advertising for Scout. Other hotel guests would see all the new Scouts in the parking lot.

From my understanding, there isn't much there (or wasn't). I'm sure that's gonna change. It's north of Columbia. I think the next largest area is Rock Hill.

A shuttle would be very nice since the airport is 30 minutes+ away, as are car rental places. Usually, when I pick up a car, I just do a one-way car rental and someone from the dealership will pick me up at the nearby car rental place.

Ohhh it would also be nice if we had a Scout Concierge for us newbie EV owners to help us plan our trips home with charging stops and they are available during waking hours to help us if we have difficulties figuring things out on the road.

Good idea but probably going to need to go a little further out as early conversations implied there wasn’t much in Blythewood-but probably by the time we have pick ups they’ll have a Costco and Trader Joe’s 😀

We have a place local that does tomatoe pie (more in line with a quiche) and it’s surprisingly good. But it’s more a brunch item than a dessert

Basically what BMW does. We dropped car at airport and they picked us up and shuttled to hotel night before then breakfast at hotel and they picked us up in the morning since most people will fly in or rent a car unless trade in happens at factory

Oh and you know how hotels have a board that has events happening at a hotel that week. They could have pictures of the Scouts being picked up that week.
I suspect visitors will end up in Columbia unless they work with local businesses to raise the experience. After the reveal event-I’ll say kudos to SM as they set the bar high as experience factor goes. Not sure a standard Holiday Inn will be the experience they want but guess time will tell

Ahh, we've transitioned to the quiche side of the pie conversation... I do love a good quiche. We used to do larger ones with a proper crust, but man, a legit pie crust is so fattening. Nowadays, we do mini crustless ones in a good nonstick muffin pan. Must be getting close to lunch, I'm getting hungry. A good quiche or chicken pot pie sounds excellent right about now.

I think you’ll adapt very quickly to EV but concierge would be nice. BMW did the shuttles with X5’s which was nice.

I still think with community being such a big part of SM ethos they should do on site lodging or at least a block of rooms at hotel that are geared for weekly arrivals of SM delivery customers and maybe there is an evening event before if people want to be a bigger community

After quiche will be cakes, then muffins and then an easy slide to cupcakes. Wrap up with ice cream. Let’s go team!!!

While a shuttle is convenient, they could also work with a local rental agency at the airport so our rentals could be Scouts. Simple way to start the experience immediately.

All of the solutions are tough since they're all one-way. The logistics on the back end aren't easy to get all the vehicles back to the airport, but it could definitely be done. Maybe some Scout employees could park at the rental area and take a shuttle in to the factory in the morning and drive the Scouts back to the airport after their shift is over?

What if the Scouts are shuttles. Have the bench seats so they could pick up 5 passengers at a time and they are just picking people up from the airport or hotel and bringing them to the factory.

I just based it on my BMW experience. If you have 6-8 deliveries you tell buyers 8am at designated hotel lobby and a platoon of travelers in different colors shows up so you can get excited and they run you over to the starting point of the experience. Or hell-the give you the 40mph offroad experience of a lifetime jumping the curb and rolling natural across the grounds ILO the paved access😀. That would get everyone amped up! Might toss your breakfast but would shock everyone and get a WOW moment

I’m going with 80% because some areas are actively working with full set up and other areas still are being set up. It’s like the fire power of a fully operational battle station. $hits happening but the stormer troopers haven’t finished decorating 😂
That’s no moon…
