Not a debate at all but not the epitome of Amish pies. And then lol add black raspberry crumb pie to the list!3 berry pie
Pumpkin pie
THIS is not a debate . . .
For those without gluten-open a pack of cinnamon rolls, slice in half to make skinny nicer circles and line the bottom and sides of pan before cheesecake batter. It’s amazingAnd for any gf people gluten free Oreos, regular and golden make a bomb cheesecake crust.
That sounds really good right now. That sounds really good right now. Now I want Boston cream pieI was going to ask what you use for crusts... Beat me to it, haha. Now I want cheesecake. Luckily, my wife made a to-die-for chocolate cake yesterday, so I'll survive.
Speaking of pies that aren't pies. I wouldn't mind some Boston Cream Pie about now either, but it's definitely more of a cake and the Amish certainly aren't taking credit for that one.
If you want graham cracker concrete you have to include baby drool. There are gf graham crackers but I haven’t found a good one yet. They turn into concrete when you make the crust out of them.
Agreed. Very few pies (& quasi pies) are turned away in our household. Though it’s not on my list, I’d still crush a good black raspberry crumble…Not a debate at all but not the epitome of Amish pies. And then lol add black raspberry crumb pie to the list!
I’m sure they too would love a good pie. . .Dear Jamie and Scout Motors. I am so sorry for turning the progress post into Pie talk.
Someday we are going to show up to pick up our Scouts with pies.I’m sure they too would love a good pie. . .
Why not? I’ll be living in NH by then and I’d be happy to bring one down for my pick-up. This household is constantly making desserts & come fall pie production goes into full steam.Someday we are going to show up to pick up our Scouts with pies.![]()
I’ve always liked a good strawberry rhubarb. But I can’t keep my face out of a pecan pie.Agreed. Very few pies (& quasi pies) are turned away in our household. Though it’s not on my list, I’d still crush a good black raspberry crumble…

You can never go wrong with that.I’m m a fan of derby pie-I think that’s right. Basically pecan pie with semi sweet chocolate chips? And usually a splash of bourbon for good measure
Never heard of this, but sounds yummy. You are a bad man!I’m m a fan of derby pie-I think that’s right. Basically pecan pie with semi sweet chocolate chips? And usually a splash of bourbon for good measure

Red Truck Bakery in Warrenton and Marshall, VA has this, but they call it a Kentucky Bourbon pie. RTB is Good! I've stopped there on a couple occasions heading to my kids' colleges. Can I post a link here w/o getting in trouble?Oh my. I'm going googling....
Now that you say that is very heard it called that too so maybe that’s the proper name and since the Amish don’t drink (so they say) maybe the call it Derby in reference to Kentucky but don’t do the bourbon. Either way-it’s a damn good pie but only a sliver, slightly warmed with scoop of vanilla ice cream. I’d say it should be official pie of SM but guessing SC residence have their preferred state dessert of choiceRed Truck Bakery in Warrenton and Marshall, VA has this, but they call it a Kentucky Bourbon pie.
