Interior Colors

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

PLEASE have interiors for all trims that are not black or white. Black = scorched ass in the summer. White = impossible to keep clean (especially with dogs). This is a major reason I don’t want a Rivian. Tans, blues, etc. Think comfy but easy to get the dust out . . .

One thing to note as you move to an EV/EREV. It is trivial to pre-cool your car from your phone before you get into it, even in a closed garage (since there's no exhaust). So you will get into the habit of pre-conditioning 10 minutes or so before you plan to leave. Presto, no toasted buns. Of course the opposite is true in the winter. Nice and toasty buns when you get in then 😂

All that to say, black interior in an EV is not as bad as it is in an ICE.

As for interior I am partial to a camel/saddle brown. I would also prefer real leather instead of the vinyl crap (oh excuse me, vegan leather) we're getting nowadays.
I’m not as focused on what the material is, my requirement is that it lasts and is easy to clean. That’s my priority.

Rivian's Ocean Coast (light) interior was definitely not a color for dog owners or owners concerned with getting into their trucks after doing some real dirt dog adventuring in the outdoors... That said, the grey-colored interior is awesome. They call it black mountain I think but its really a dark grey. And the seats are ventilated so even if the cabin gets hot you can cool your ass down before you get in the truck from the app.

I really like how they have seats that are darker on the bottom and lighter on the top. Darker where you sit is better.

Love cooled seats

While so far it doesn’t appear to be a design thought but I hope SM does NOT carry the exterior paint color into the interior. Thinking about Wrangler, Beetle, Mini (I think) but I do t want a great saddle brown interior and then a chunk of colored dash metal that matches the exterior instead of my interior finishes.

Completely agree. And I swear there was a period of time for Wranglers where it was red dash accent regardless of the exterior color. I was at the auto show and it was some odd color combos that’s for sure.
