In the passenger seat, who would you take?

We have a few day's until we see the next color is uncovered on the Traveler, to kill some time I thought I would post a thread on who would you choose to take on a drive....

Imagine this: you’re heading out on a long drive, no distractions, just the open road and time for conversation. If you could choose anyone — from the past, present, or even a fictional world — to ride along with you, who would it be, and why?

Would you choose someone you admire, someone you miss, or maybe a character who’s always sparked your imagination? I’d love to hear who you’d invite into the passenger seat and what makes that choice meaningful to you.

Honestly my mother-in-law. I know, I know, all the mother-in-law jokes, but she and I got along really well. She passed away in 2003 from pancreatic cancer. She was given 2 weeks to live when she was diagnosed but made it 6 months.

She and I talked pretty much everyday. She was retired before she passed and was one of those ladies who lunch so I got to go to all these fabulous fund raising lunches with her and she ran in some pretty fancy circles.

I would love to be able to tell her how her grandkids are and that they are all doing so well in life and that her son and I have been married 35 years.

She always seemed to be involved in our car purchases and I’m sure she would love the Scout. When I left her funeral I asked my father in law for the Wile E Coyote stuffie she had in her car. She had won it at a carnival game in Vegas in the 80s. He’s still my copilot today and will be going in my Scout.

My life partner. We’ve been together for 28 years, married for 25 of them. Convince our spawn ride with us. We would go to all the North American—US, Canada, and Mexico—National Parks. Maybe also do the PanAmerican Highway up and down.

This is a great story and such a great way to remember her each time you see Wile Coyote in the seat. Seems like she left a lasting impression on you.

Walt Disney! He was a visionary and I think I’d learn so much and would just re-inspire me to go bigger with my design visions. And sounds cheesy but I’d start in Orlando then drive to CA because I’d love to know what he would think about where the company has gone and did they honor his visions

Present would be my son. He's only 4 but love all things dirt related and mechanical. I always joke He'll know his trucks before his letters and numbers as he can identify the majority of his hot wheels makes and models and spots trucks out while we're driving. I really look forward to adventures ahead and what the memories the future Scout will create.

Past would be my grandfather although the trip would likely take twice as long. I use to help him out on his newspaper route as a kid it would take exponentially longer as he always had to chat with strangers at length. He always had a story to tell, I can't confirm the validity of most of those stories but they were always interesting. He had a passion for cars and was quite wild, even in his older age.

And other choice would be Jon Gruden, I always love his charisma as an NFL commentator and he's passionate about everything. I will watch his latest unboxng videos he receives gear from colleges and he has some much knowledge of former players.

Those are all lovely choices. My youngest son was car obsessed at that age. Gave him a choice of Legoland or the mechanic when he turned 5. He picked the mechanic. Went to a friends shop and he came home with car parts. Was thrilled. Also take him to a junkyard. My son loved going to the junkyard. He had power window buttons and a wheel and all kind of parts in his room. Now that mine are older, those are memories you never forget.
