How would you build your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Answered this awhile ago so trying to remember. Basically your build but with butter yellow and white roof 35’s and I think I’m gonna gamble the cabana roof. Otherwise identical. Second is same but a non metallic lagoon blue/green with white or gun metal gray roof. I absolutely love the Tahitian red but suspect everyone will be going that way. My first Scout was butter yellow tone so the nostalgia of it. I also think I’d like the tinted Ralleye strip but curious how it would look on butter yellow
Posted this awhile ago but this is the closest blue I’ve found for what I envision in my head

Okay now that I have seen them in person, I decided to revisit my thought experiment and see what’s changed.

Traveler for sure. I am not a truck person.

Yellow, but it has to be the right yellow. There were quite a few yellow vintage Scouts there that day and it’s amazing how different the color can be from yellow to yellow. No highlighter yellow, no orangey yellow.

I really like the charcoal grey roof that’s on the Traveler. Having seen the transition from body color to roof color with that dark windows and the black molding piece, at this point I prefer the dark charcoal.

I really like the wheels on the green concept that was posted a while ago. Of the three designs I have seen so far that one is my favorite.

I am not sure now if I want colored brake calipers. I’m hoping at some point they show some color options. I would like to see red, orange and blue brake calipers.

Same for the tow hooks. Would like to see different color options. Red, orange and blue tow hooks.

35s. I know, I know, range but I have always wanted them.

That tan/grey interior in the Traveler is beautiful. Just like that. It’s the prettiest tan I have ever seen in a car and I have had multiple vehicles with tan interior.

I really liked the doors in the traveler with that fabric. I don’t know how it will hold up versus the hemp but I preferred that over the hemp.

Dark flooring with rubber floor mats. SM please don’t make tan flooring. Had that in a few cars. Gets too dirty.

Glass roof for sure.

Rock sliders. Saw some vintage this weekend with a big step. No thanks. Not my cup of tea.

After seeing the bench seat and the regular bucket seats, I’m buckets all the way. Love that console in the middle. Definitely want that.

Loved the Rallye stripes. I’m 95% sure I want those.

After seeing the roof rack I’m sure I don’t want that. Don’t want to worry about height and I want the glass roof to be a completely unobstructed view of the sky.

I do like the brush guard on the bumper but I would need to see it in person. I don’t really need it and if it gets in the way of getting to the frunk then I would not get one.

Have to do my research on air suspension. Not sure on that yet.

And the big question still is to harvester or not to harvester. My husband is 100% harvester and all these articles lately about how EREVs are the new thing aren’t helping.

Okay this is where I am as of now. It will be interesting to see what we all change or stick with after we all get to see them in person.

Again, if they are anywhere even remotely close to you, go see them. You won’t regret it!!
Okay another decision made. No brush guard. I don’t off-road. I don’t need it. And I want to be able to get in the frunk easily.

I watched the reveal while sitting in an airport lounge and (with some difficulty, completely unrelated to the free booze) was frantically putting in my deposit as soon as I saw the bench seat option.
For me I was walking my dog watching on my phone and as soon as I saw the tire carrier I went immediately home and put in my reservation.

While I was blessed to be at the event I had literally pre-typed a text for my wife with my forum password and everything ready to send so the second I knew if I wanted one I could hit send. 2seconds after that door opened and they pulled out I hit send. Then typed a second text that said-make two reservations. My goal is still to convince my dad to buy one. He’ll be all but 86 when they hit the streets so I don’t know if it will happen but would be so cool.
