How about a Velcro-compatible headliner

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

OK, some of us may be patch collectors during our adventures and maybe even Scout will create patches that are velcro-compatible. Sure would be nice is the headliner of the Scout could support velcro patches. A great example, if you are familiar, 5.11 usually has a patch a month club and gives the buyer of merchandise a patch. Thanks for the consideration and thoughts from all.

I have seen 4Runners with patches all over the headliner. I think they are using that Velcro that’s sticky. So one side sticks to the patch, one side sticks to the headliner and then you have Velcro. I’m also hoping we get more Scout patches at events and in Scout Supply. I’m all for patches.

This was brought up very early on. And to be fair I thought is was a weird request. Then roughly a month or so again I saw @OleScout ’s Bronco in its heritage guise and his patches are all over the inside of the roof/ceiling/liner and I have to say-it was very cool. As a daily driver I would not want that, but as a fun vehicle/offroader I thinks it’s a cool idea. That said I also would prefer a smooth ceiling liner which likely won’t facilitate Velcro patches but maybe a quasi-Bimini liner that would allow for this.

I think this is a fun idea, but probably to specific. My father had the roof of the 77 loaded with stickers that had significance to him, from travel and memories, I do like to collect stickers and patches, but I like putting stickers on things that will be around “forever” like my suitcase, as for patches I think I own two Velcro and that’s because they came with a dog harness, every other patch I have has been heat/iron on, but for me that works I like showing them off so I put them on my backpack or currently I’m adding some to my ionna jacket.

I have a YELLOW travel bag that’s the home of my Scout patches. I need more!
