February 2026 Scout Production Center Update

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Yeah. Not sure it makes it to production but there are grooves in floor for tie downs and it extends to tailgate and they had cushions in the prototype that slide out onto the tailgate. Cool feature

I was able to get some photos of the cargo area at the LA Auto Show last November. I agree, cool feature.

A little bonus for the forum showing the 3D CAD work done to plan for the entire 1.3 million square foot body shop:

Absolutely amazing! Thanks Jamie! It’s pretty weird to me that the robots are in one pic, but then there’s another looking like the robots are months away from entering the building. The CAD though is a cool image of what will be. . . .

These images are over a month old now. We have another update coming soon, but there has been a lot of daily progress.

That just tells you how efficiently they're building this thing. As soon as part of the building is weather-proof, they're installing ductwork, wiring, equipment, robots, etc. Also, I have no clue how long it takes to get 700+ robots delivered. I'm guessing they can't just order them from Amazon, haha.

Somehow I’m guessing they were the first things ordered when this project started.

Thanks @cyure for sharing the photos!

Resident tall person here (6' 2" -ish). Yes, I'll be driving most of the time, but I have tall friends too, and sometimes want to ride Miss Daisy or changing up drivers on road trips, etc. So I refuse to buy something that I can't fit comfortably in every seating position.

Speaking of seats...
I'm hoping for some really awesome seat designs as standard. Like cool stitching patterns and multi-textural textural designs. The seat design game has really leveled up in recent years, so it's kind of a must to maintain competitive attractiveness. I bring this up because they look very plain so far.

You are welcome. If you look up my name CYURE in search you will find my Nationals thread and Chicago thread. There’s tons more pictures.

Same here. I'm a smidge shorter (6'1" on the dot, without shoes). I won't buy anything as a family vehicle that I can't sit in behind myself, without feeling comfortable.

The third row of the Ioniq 9 is tight, but I did confirm before buying it, that I could sit in the 3rd row, "behind" myself in the second, and 1st rows. Was it luxurious in the second and third row in that case? Not as much as I'd like. But it was totally doable (and not just for a short drive).

On the topic of seats...

I had a buddy when I lived in the bay area, who drove a Mercedes AMG of some sort. And as a "car guy", I asked him one time while he was giving me a ride to something "oh, nice car, what made you decide on this one". I was expecting it to be something like "the acceleration" or "the cool exhaust note" or "the car looks awesome", or something like that.

But you know what he said?

"The seats have red thread in them".

That was the whole reason he went for like a $90k car. The red stitching on the piping of the leather seat. It blew my mind.

But apparently people will buy vehicles based entirely on the stitching color of the seats. So, I guess having good/interesting seats could be a thing for Scout to do to sell vehicles :P.

The Elantra N has performance blue stitching and it only costs $36,000. 😹. And an N on the seat that lights up.

I see so many car reviews criticizing interior materials in places nobody will ever touch, and I simply don't get it. I mean, if I'm dropping Rolls or Bentley money, sure, but a Toyota or Subaru?? I'm sure there are people behind this push for soft-touch materials on everything inside a car, but I've never met one in person. Before long, they'll complain that the plastic panels hiding stuff in their engine compartment aren't soft-touch.

I had to go look at my daily driver to see what color stitching it had, haha. After 95k miles, I was surprised to find red stitching at all of the seams in the black leather seats. I had no idea...

Apparently I'm more focused on the driving and not having a "Jesus, Take the Wheel" moment while I caress every surface of the inside of my car.
