Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Its a lot less obvious on the Rivian, but (in addition to the rear wheel well air channel shown), the pass-through vent channel to the front wheel wells runs through the front bumper:

I like! If SM follows through on their r-2-r, coupled with NO subscriptions, I think they will have a compelling case for other buyers. It should be a cornerstone of their marketing campaign. Just my opinionl

One of the key aspects of right to repair is access to the software inside the vehicle. It’ll mean nothing if you can swap a part but that part still requires a software update to be integrated into the system. Hoping Scout doesn’t go the way of recent efforts that many manufacturers are going that lock users out of the internal software. And access through the screen may not be enough. True right to repair will involve the users having a choice in how the interface with the software.

Good point. And I’m assuming that when I say right to repair. Data access is key to everything when maintaining modern autos. I just think it could be a key marketing tool for SM.

I’m sorry why do you need it! My son just floored it and I was screaming at him to slow down. It’s just different in an EV. It’s instant speed. The Supra is about the same 0 to 60 time and it doesn’t bother me when you floor it in that’s car. It’s more gradual.

Haha, I'm upset the EREV version will only do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds while the BEV version will be 3.5 seconds, so I'm really hoping Scout can do better with the EREV numbers... Add 35" mud tires and the EREV will pretty much be a dog in a straight line. My view of acceleration might be a bit skewed though. When your lungs start compressing and you can't get a breath, you know the vehicle is fast.

I think I remember hearing about that the way Scout was designing the vehicles it was with the intention that someone could make 80-90% of the repairs on their own and that manuals/diagnostics would be available. I'm assuming that excluded the battery and associated components. I know I don't want to have any part in that and even though I have a really good mechanic that's done a great job with my current cars...there are some things that I wouldn't trust Mikey to do
