And now you know why they call it "FIGHTING LADY yellow" in the boat industry!
Don't piss her off with peanut butter yellow!

I’m so glad I don’t know about these things. Even the term “influencer” is comical to me. I don’t have brain cells or time to waste on social media. And I’m so tired of the captions that say, “I just found the viral (insert product name here)”. If you have to tell people it’s viral, it isn’t.
And don’t get me started on the influencers that do the finger taps on products. Nope, pass.
I feel you here. I'm one of the 4% that went back to ICE....and this is exactly the reason. Loved my M3P, but I missed having a noisy 6MT sports car that was a joy to drive. As fast as my M3P was (and it was FAST), driving a 5000 lb car aggressively wears on you. After about 15-20 minutes you REALLY start to feel that weight. Anyway, It felt like this was one of my last opportunities to own a manual transmission car, so I had to do it since the chance will likely not come again. That being said.....I want another EV as a Daily Driver and the plan is for the Terra to replace my current pickup and be my DD.Oddly enough, I'm not opposed to EVs in general, it's all the stupid stuff they put in (or don't put in) with the electric drivetrains. No buttons/all screens, no door handles, etc. I'll want to keep one engaging vehicle to drive, but will likely be all-EV otherwise in the next few years. A silky-smooth inline-6 or a big V8 attached to a manual transmission is hard to beat from an engaging standpoint, and the rolling toasters just don't get my heart going. To be fair, ICE vehicles with automatic transmissions count as rolling toasters to me too. So boring to drive, whether it's a race-prepped DCT or an econobox.
Faith and patience.Yes.....ECD is Estimated Completion Date. Sorry....work vernacular jumped in there.![]()
I was really just hoping someone had given us a idea of when that info would be released. As much as I want a Terra and as excited as I am about owning one, it's viability for me comes down to it's ability to tow (I know...this has been beaten to death, sorry). Based on what the CEO said to Jay Leno, I switched over to the Full Electric Terra in order to get the full towing capacity.....but I'm concerned that with a ~350 mile pack I'll be stopping to charge a ton if I'm towing. That's the reason I originally wanted the Harvester. Course if it takes a huge capacity hit, then the Harvester won't work for me (I don't fancy towing right near the capacity limit....doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy). Hopefully they'll release the real deal info in enough time before production starts to allow for reservation updates as and if needed. Guess we continue playing the waiting game.![]()
Another thought. The R2s are going on sale soon and they still don’t have pricing and specs yet. I know we all want to know, but what SM is doing doesn’t seem out of the ordinary at all.Yes.....ECD is Estimated Completion Date. Sorry....work vernacular jumped in there.![]()

From Rivian's site: "Pricing, options and more announced March 12"Another thought. The R2s are going on sale soon and they still don’t have pricing and specs yet. I know we all want to know, but what SM is doing doesn’t seem out of the ordinary at all.
I'd hate to be in charge of pricing something that's releasing so soon with all of the financial/import world in such turmoil. Back to reduced tariffs today, but next week? They'll likely be back in another form. It probably helps that Rivian has been bringing more production in-house instead of outsourcing, but I'd still hate to be that guy!Another thought. Good to know.Ford had a small, refundable reservation charge and a $500 refundable order deposit. The reservation charge was applied toward the order deposit.
It all comes down to successful training and planningIt’s what every manufacturer does and has been doing for a long, long time.
It’s nearly impossible to precisely predict when production and delivery will happen in a venture like this, even for the well-established manufacturers.
My $100 Bronco deposit sat until I decided to wait AND the dealer manager called me and asked if I’d give it up so he could get another allocation. So long as you have it I assume you jump to front of line at someone t. 2 years in when they offer a new limited color or new model I’d think they would honor your reservation number and do right by you but too early to tellMy question is is there more of a deposit that needs to be left when you place your order? What did Rivian do in the early days?
Otherwise couldn’t you place an order and not follow through because it’s only $100 you would lose.
I don’t think $500 should move you to front but after a grace period it should slide you forward as others don’t pay a fee with assumption they are waiting to order. But I get your point and non refundable certainly brings in cash flowI'm not sure what side of the fence I'd be on this, but it would be interesting to see them have an additional $ lock in for your vehicle.
$100 refundable puts you on the list to receive either.
+$500 locks in your choice and reserves your spot in line (moves you ahead of the initial reservations). This would not be refundable (but would credit to your final cost of vehicle).
I came up with this in like 2 minutes so not bound to it logistically or $X!
That sounds oddly familiarI think a lot of the deposit will depend on how flexible Scout is with selecting options. If most of the options are boring like Rivian, they'd be able to sell your vehicle to the next person in line with the same configuration without taking a financial hit. Hopefully Scout chooses to allow a la carte selections instead of just boring packages, so if some nutjob opted for a PBY Scout with a Sunkist-orange interior and PBY powder-coated wheels, I'd expect Scout to require a notably higher deposit.
Yet here you are!I’m so glad I don’t know about these things. Even the term “influencer” is comical to me. I don’t have brain cells or time to waste on social media.
Quite frankly I wouldn’t worry about it. To each their own for watching the podcasts they like. I’ve never seen this one and I’ll likely never watch it again. The guy who doesn’t shut up is obnoxious and just likes to hear himself talk. That’s my take but he’s negative about everything so no need for me to give up my time for it
Jamie, I would be clearing up this info. Quickly, people are going to start dropping their reservations
It does matter a little bit because the host, Doug Demuro, is popular. He created Cars and Bids, and his personal YouTube channel has over 5 million subscribers. Oh it’s Doug, oh geez. Honestly it’s like whack a mole at this point.
