Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

This is crazy
It's going to get worse without more consumer protections. Gigacasting saves Tesla money, and every other automaker is exploring it. Toyota is already beginning to use it.

Right to repair is more important than anything. A panel isn’t hard to change if it’s built correctly and easy to swap. Bolts and nuts should be easily accessible, not glue. Body shops are the worst to deal with.

Rivian-VW JV Adopts Amazon Tech for Real Time Video Protection

Oh great! So when the AWS servers shut down again like they did a few weeks ago my Scouts security will too! Just what I want to hear!

We couldn't have picked ORACLE huh?

The Honda Prelude is out. I just saw a video on Instagram talking about the dealer market adjustment. So it’s a $40,000 car and they are adding $10,000 to $15,000 on top of that. This is exactly why Im so glad Scout is DTC! That’s insanity!
Yeah-saw that coming. My cousin sells Hondas so when they become available I will likely test one

Look how cute!

Very similar in theory to the scout metros. There is hope after all. I think a scout metro as a fun, small vehicle as an intro to SM vehicle family would be a great vehicle. And if fun and full of character it would even be cool for kids and 20-somethings

I completely respect all the people saying that Rivian should continue to stay focused on luxury outdoors, and let Scout be the more aggressive, retro outdoors. And that they're is space for both in the auto market. And that both have two completely different target markets.

Its almost exactly like on what @ROMR_Casey said, about that Scout is in its own market. And us exactly what my theory has been. They really have no competition. Its Scout vs no one.

Never having driven an EV I don’t know what it’s like to drive in silence. I know lots of you like that, but the Ioniq 5N with all its crazy noises looks like fun and now they might be in a Porsche. I really hope our Scouts get Terra Race Truck noises. That would be so fun.

I much prefer the Mustang with all its fake noises off.
I don’t even know if the Lightning has fake noises. If it does, they're off by default.
I prefer the quiet.

That said, until you get used to it, the road noise sounds a lot louder than before because many of the vehicle noises have been removed. And some people seem to get carsick from not having the hints from the engine noises. It never impacted me.

I’ve heard that and I’m one tha can get carsick. I can’t read in a car, etc. so hoping they have fake noises just in case I’m nauseous at first.

@Jamie@ScoutMotors,

I know that we try to not talk about VWs financials on here. But as I’m sure you have seen in the news, and I’m sure Scott has it sitting on his desk most likely… VW is in a bad financial situation, and might have to sell Scout off because it’s a non profit company at the moment, due to not cars on sale.

Is there any updates? And what would be likely to happen? Who would be most likely to buy Scout Motors, or would it be time for Scout to go public and would Harvester still be sourced from VW or would an American Companies engine be used?

Just starting to get worried that we may never see Scouts on the road. 😬😬😬😬

We all have concerns, but I try not to worry about things I have no control over. Could VW "claim" Blythewood and build Audis and Porsches there? Sure. We would hear rumors about that well before an official announcement from VW or Scout is made. Jamie is a great guy, but he works for Scout. He's going to have to toe the company line.
