Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsâ„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Okay, now I was on Instagram this morning. I don’t even know what to say about this.

They have been delivering fuel to jobs sites forever. Delivering it to a private home seems to be something new.
Soon I will be driving a new EV and won't need to waste any brain cell on things like this. :)
Yeah it was the private home that seems ridiculous. Job sites I understand, that makes sense. But a gas truck coming to my house. Nope.

Seems Nissan is reviving the Xterra brand, while this is just a render, it is very Scoutish.

I’m sorry but the distinctive thing about the Xterra was that roof that went up and they had pretty distinctive roof racks. They should have done what Scout did and made a modern version of it. This looks nothing like it. It looks like the Scout. Grrrrr.

100% agree. The stepped roof and theater seats inside made it special and unique. Totally missed opportunity

After taking a second look at that FB photo I suspect although it seems to be a private residence the safety fence in the background tells me it is more likely still a job site. Not to say people don’t have fuel delivered to their homes. I just don’t think that photo is proof.

They have had this as a service in the SF Bay Area for like 10 years (there's one in LA called Fuelster). A small fuel truck would fuel your car while you were at work. Doesn't seem to be any profit in it as the companies seem to come and go regularly. That and they seemed to get shut down fairly often for regulatory violations - transporting flammable materials and all...

The Bay Area also has (had?) a service that will set out and return your trash cans on trash day. It's truly a unique place. Although maybe that one went out of business too....

Propane is delivered to homes. Heating oil is delivered to homes. Generator fuel is delivered to homes... Hell in Austin, there use to be a service to do an oil change and fill your vehicle while it sat in your parking garage at work.

As for commercial delivery - time is money. Book keeping is also money. I can laugh. I know one person who works for a company that buys oil from a company and selling it back to a different division of the same company. I used to do book keeping for a company (a monthly client) that existed only to transfer oil and gas on paper from a seller to it's buyers - without the sellers name on the invoice (I think the intermediary was paid about 1/2 a percent for the use of their name).
