Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I also noticed this in the video, the screen Demo is for the Harvester Terra, but has a little fuel pump icon where the charge door is. Could this mean the door is powered in some way (telling it to open before you exit the cabin), or is it for the external outlets that accompany it?

I do wish that it would get more mention. It’s getting to the point where people may not even realize a BEV is available. Also with gas prices being so high I can’t believe it won’t entice people to give Scout a look.
I'm definitely curious to see the pricing difference between the two. Early on, they expected the EREV to be cheaper, but battery prices have been falling and they're much farther into the engineering on the EREV now, so I'm sure they have a better idea where things are falling.

Great question. Seems odd to have the gas door unlock on a screen with mostly lighting on it. I'd expect it to be with a frunk-open button. Also seems odd to have the gas door all the way back there if the gas tank is in front of the axle.

Not a bad video, but every single video I see just makes me wish someone was more focused on the EV variant. I know it's probably not as much to talk about as the EREV with "new tech", but still. Unless it's 200-300 Miles on battery and the rest on gas, I really can't see the appeal of the Harvester, though that's because my daily miles exceed 150 regularly, and I don't want to reintroduce a maintenance schedule along with regular fueling stops
What other aspects of the BEV should the video be focusing on? The 350-mile range was mentioned. If 85% of reservations are for Harvesters, doesn't it make sense to devote more time to them? Until we can compare pricing, performance, and towing numbers between the EREV and BEV, the Harvesters are the stars of the show.

I thought the EREV would be more expensive. Adding an engine and all the associated parts and all.

That's the odd part, the harvester fuel door is still in the front right (passenger) on the animated screen, but it doesn't have a button, so it's odd that the charge port does. Have we seen significant lighting in the charge port?

Try to see it this way. The current reservations lean harvester, but where are people getting their info about these upcoming vehicles (not the reservation numbers) from? Realistically, probably YouTube videos or summarized articles. All these videos, and hosts (Scout included), focus on the Harvester model, so for the majority of people, they might not know that a Full electric exists, or if they do, they might still carry the wrong impression that the Harvester can go 300 Miles before the engine is needed. I will say that Scout has made efforts to fix that bit of misunderstanding, with more Hosts calling out the 150EV range of the harvester, but it took days of research for me to find the proof of that before my reservation, because most of the original news was 350EV or 500 Harvester

Do you know if the thin red line around the outlets was backlit? it's hard to tell with the light above it? I know the Charge port on my car glows when open, but that was an upgraded option
I don’t think it was. Let me see if I can find a picture from Chicago.

Okay so the charging door was shut. And I thought someone said that light isn’t going to wrap around like it does on the concepts. It will be interesting to see how it looks on production.

Looking a little more at the screen, it's definitely not for the outlets, but it's strange that all other controls are for lights, nothing for the frunk, or harvester door, which makes it harder to think it's just for opening the charge port
