Colorado Event

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So sorry that this wasn't the experience you should have had. This was a last minute affair and we were scrambling to get anyone out there. I have already taken the feedback back to our team to make sure any future appearances are more in line with the proper experience you should have. We will be in Denver at the Outside Festival on May 31 to June 1st and will have both vehicles on display. Hopefully if you have time you can check it out.

Jamie
Wish I could have come up for it from Colorado Springs, but this is Space Symposium week - definitely interested in the Outside Festival appearance!

Sorry for the delay in responding! I went to the event this morning, and it was so nice to actually see the Scout in person. Color is gorgeous, and the interior looked very nice to me. Not over the top luxurious (in a good way) but sleek and designed very well. I’m attaching some photos I took! Agree with others that it’s a tall/large vehicle for sure so that actually took me off guard a bit. I spoke to a Scout rep and am planning on making my voice heard when the bill gets heard in the Legislature here—really don’t like how dealers are playing games with this. I’ve seen how dealers upcharge on new/limited supply cars and it’s awful for everyone except the dealers. The car companies don’t win, and the consumers absolutely lose. I’ll post more updates next week once I hear more!
Don't wait - email your state reps now. I emailed mine down here in COS as soon as I heard about the bill - my State House rep (R) hadn't heard of the bill and promised to look into it. I plan to follow up with them again.

If you wait until the hearing they won't have time to get educated about it.

I stopped by the event when I was doing some running around for work. The vehicle looks great in person, the orange color really pops. Man is it big/tall. I'm 5'7" and the front hood hits at the top of my chest. Interior looks beautiful.

I was however a bit disappointed in the organization of the event. I knew the intent was really to focus on the legislation, which didn't seem particularly obvious aside from a table off to the side that didn't have someone manning it. It wasn't very busy, I'd say there were maybe 15 people milling around when I went in the morning. However, it was not super obvious who was a "staff" member, or anyone greeting when people walked up to orient to what was going on/what to expect/what's allowed. I'd guess there were 3 Scout reps standing around talking to people. I walked around for 10-15 minutes and no one said anything to me. The three staff members were still talking to the same people that they were with when I walked up when I left 15 min later.

It's great that enthusiasts get the opportunity to chat about their passion with the staff, but it made it tough for anyone else. There was one guy walking around with a polish cloth, didn't have noticeable Scout affiliation otherwise. The back was closed up and I wanted to ask if they were able to open it. I tried to catch ANYONE's attention and couldn't, so I asked another attendee standing around if she knew if they could open the back. She's the one who pointed out the guy and I had to really try to grab his attention, he seemed to be avoiding eye contact, lol. I was very polite and asked if it would be possible to see the back open. He just walked over and pushed buttons, didn't say a word or ask if we had questions.

Maybe I had the wrong expectations going into it, but it would have been great to just be greeted and given a 20 second elevator speil of what was going on. Regardless, I appreciate the team getting the vehicles out in person, it was awesome to get eyes on it.
Saraliz,

I was the guy that opened the back for you, and I apologize for not spending some time with you. We are there to not only show people the vehicle but also keep them from manhandling it. Please do not take offense to how I handled the situation. There was a lot going on during these events and you probably caught me at the wrong time. Again I apologize.

Please come by and see both vehicles during the Outside Festival. You are welcome to give me a swift kick to the shin. :) I'm sure that will get my attention.

Hope to see you at the end of May.

You can tell its hand made it the picture of the scout logo in the tire carrier, you can see that someone went a bit heavy with Dremel, I love how Scout is allowing us to get up close to them and they aren't pushing people away like most manufactures.

Also are 2 piston brakes enough? Even with regen? @Jamie@ScoutMotors

Also, you might want to change them rotors, they have a bit of foreign brown flakes. @CP1@scoutmotors
Brakes don't get used enough to clear the flakes. Probably should grease them up. :)

All good, no offense taken! It was just tough to understand what was allowed/how to ask questions given that all staff was tied up and busy and I didn't want to get yelled at...lol

Curious when the largest EV market in the country and home to Rivian and VW Group Technology will get some Scout love? Will also accept invites to VW corp. offices in Belmont, San Jose, or Palo Alto. ;)

Kudos for stepping up and owning it. That means the world to me and I’m not even the person that commented. To date, SM has just shown class since the start. I posted after the reveal how great everyone was but it’s great to see a company still providing a great appearance. It speaks volumes.

Whats happening in may? Whats the outside festival?

Here are a few detail pics that were new to me at least. I know ... search the forums .... A couple of pouches were hung on the molle panel in the frunk. Very functional and looked cool as well. There is a sliding panel in the frunk which covers storage for the charging cords. The sliding mechanism seemed a bit finicky (staff opened it for me :)). I feel like a hinged top or one that drops in place would work more effectively. I fear dirt will get in those tracks. Further confirmation of USB-C ports on the dash mount! There are two, one on each end. And lastly, some closeups of the buttons. I thought I had a couple of shots from under the truck as well but those went missing somehow. The flooring under the mats is very washable which is great for trips to Moab!

I agree with the sentiment that this is a large vehicle and I am 6' 2". The rear load height is pretty high and the width will be an issue on many of Colorado's back country trails. Prepare for some pinstriping. As others have said, the Tahoe is a good comparison. The vehicle sits high, definitely an off-road configuration. I also think the roof rack makes a big difference in people's impression of the vehicle's size. Lastly, if the expected range is indeed based on the 35's as mentioned above, then I have some hope the range will improve with smaller tires and a lowered profile though the traveler will never win an aero contest.

These were taken with an Android phone, but you can blame the photographer for the quality issues.

Has anyone ever attempted to scan that QRcode? Or does it just hot link over to ScoutMotors.com?
