  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsâ„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
One of the things I've been linking about the Scout is how well integrated and intentional everything seems to be - in my opinion if the screen were any bigger, vertical, etc... then the focus of the vehicle becomes the screen, something I would rather not focus on.

After searching the forums, I haven't been able to find any official specifications for the dash tray that's shown so prominently in the photos. Many people refer to it as a laptop tray, while others describe it as a place for snacks or lunch. I think that's an important distinction that reservation holders should understand.

If the intent is for it to function as a laptop tray, I'd love to see it engineered with the same rugged philosophy as the rest of the truck. Something with a published weight rating—perhaps 10–15 lbs—or even a folding, self-locking support leg that transfers the load instead of relying solely on the slide-out ABS plastic. That would give passengers confidence using a 5-pound laptop without worrying about damaging the tray over time.

A snack table is certainly a nice convenience, but we've all been finding creative ways to eat in our vehicles for decades. A truly usable laptop workstation, on the other hand, would be a genuine productivity feature. Whether you're working remotely, joining a meeting, answering emails, editing documents, or simply making productive use of travel time while someone else is driving, having a stable workspace for a full-size laptop is a real game changer. Let's face it—not every mile these vehicles travel will be off-road.

If there are official specifications for the tray, I'd appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

If Scout Motors is still refining the design, @Jamie@ScoutMotors , I'd love to see this feedback passed along. Please consider making it a truly robust workstation that can confidently support a larger, heavier laptop—not just a lightweight tray intended for snacks. It feels like a small detail that could become one of the vehicle's most appreciated features.

Appreciate this community and all the information everyone shares.
