  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Don't we need hydrodynamics for the beaver? What do I know! LOL. And since we are on a truck site talking external aerodynamics, this might be interesting to some:

This is not entirely true, since implementing certain parts batching techniques for OEM production creates greater efficiency on the assembly line and frees up valuable floor space. But you can have it both ways. Scout has talked about its accessory building. You could kit-out trucks in...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

While I'm on the topic of going back to an ICE truck temporarily while the R1T is in the shop (and in addition to zero lag with instant torque mentioned above), another thing I am reminded of in an ICE p/u is how imbalanced P/U trucks are with an engine up-front and no weight in the back. With...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I'm driving an ICE truck while my R1T is in the shop. I really miss the INSTANT Torque. The lag in the transmission of an ICE vehicle is extremely noticeable when you go back. So, yes, its awesome to be able to go 0-60 in 3 seconds in an EV truck, but the instant response (with ZERO Lag) is...

I'm pretty sure there is no licensing fee between Android or Apple and the OEM enabling the feature (but there are real costs to the OEM to implement it). However, BMW tried to EXTRACT revenue from customers that wanted "license" or use Apple CarPlay in their vehicles. They backed off on their...

Great for mixing complex commands like "take me to the nearest DCFC on my route with sit down dining options walking distance from the charger". I do a lot of solo driving and without my co-pilot the assistant is really userful. Saves time, improves safety, keeps your head up and eyes on the...

I have ZERO RFID cards for DCFC chargers. I usually initiate the charge from the App (not the terminal) at EA chargers. You might have better luck if you try initiating directly from the App. You plug in first (I believe) then choose the charger from the EA App (if you haven't tried that...

That doesn't sound normal - at all. I would have serious misgivings about that vehicle too. My dash after 60K miles doesn't make a peep. Not sure what plastic pieces you are referring to, but the interior should be silent. Did you get a CarFax? Any accidents?

I have little experience with the R1S, but ride complaints do tend to come from R1S owners. I get a lot of comments & compliments about how well the R1T drives for a truck, FWIW. Couple of thoughts: 1. 22's are definitely going to be very harsh on that vehicle. The stock tires on 22's also...

Yep, your choice. If you believe what GM, Rivian and Tesla believe, you won't be getting ACP. So, if you think ACP is a critical feature that you can't live without, there is no mandate here either. You can choose to buy a different truck. I was an ACP user prior to getting my R1T, and I knew...

Keep in mind that features inside a vehicle are generally configurable and completely optional. Enable what you want - at least in all of the trucks that I have owned recently don't mandate me to turn everything on. I have no idea what the InsideEV article said, but the current iteration of...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I find that to be much more of a utilitarian issue actually - It make it harder to level load with racks, it makes it tougher to fit a cap, and I keep a rocket launcher for fishing rods in the bed, so a slope makes it less practical to reach into the bed to load or unload. For me, a slope is...
