  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

(Planned) Route 66 Centennial Road Trip (Ended up being Great Lakes/Niagara Falls Trip)

Any pics of the bridge? That looks like a really cool route up there on the U/P. Mackinac looks like it has a cool campground too! (y)

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Yes. (Gas has nothing to do with powering the motors. Motors are 100% powered by electricity, so the state of the gas tank should not matter to the drive units.)

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yes - you can look at the app from the charger or the app for the truck. You can schedule charging and you can adjust the charge limit, etc.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I have a Rivian Charger without any neon branding, and this Wallbox one with a Neon branding for reference (not a great pic in the daylight). The Rivian charger just has a simple light bar - no preference for either in my case - they both work well. Certainly possible for Scout to do this, as...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I wonder what performance implications will be when temps are high. Given that cooling will be important, and given the space constraints - towing in the midday heat of summer will likely be more challenging than towing at night or in winter (I would think)?

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

All hypothetical - You won't know anything until there are production specs & you have the spec's for your "fully armored" truck. You would need to calculate a whole new coefficient of drag, GVWR, wheel efficiency, tire efficiency (errrr inefficiency), road and weather/temp conditions. You can...

    Rechargeable Key Fob

Seeing as I have replaced my key FOB battery once in 4 years... Would I expect to recharge my key FOB once in 4 years too?
  8. R1TVT

Is there anything that would make you switch from the BEV to the EREV?

Good news: Scout will be getting a huge jumpstart and advantage with Rivian's Zonal architecture in play. Scout will have a sneaky competitive advantage and take full advantage of JV. The SW built on top of this platform (at least for the BEV variant) will likely be very hardened. I would...

    Trim names…

Complete counter opinion here, of course. Not a fan of the "power hood" or "dome hood" or "vented hood". Particularly after owning a 2500 HD. It definitely reduces visibility, reduces efficiency and screams "my truck guzzles gas" (or diesel). Also - looks like the truck is overcompensating. But...

    R2 Launch Watch

Smart. Thats a perfect partnership. I was waiting to see which ski racer would finally rally behind Rivian. They just happened to get the best one: https://stories.rivian.com/rivian-mikaela-shiffrin

    Trim names…

I like it clean. I like it simple. I would probably debadge another name added onto the truck given "Scout's" prominence already.

Charging at a Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger Site

Its all quite intuitive, IF you follow the instructions in the app when you select your charging location! LOL

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

That is great. N of 1 example, but viable use case for you. Don't be fooled into thinking everyone is the same. There are plenty of others here that can get creative with the BEV for certain off-road use cases (with power for camping too). Not everyone will need for the added complexity or...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Can't wait to see a first responder Scout... This just popped on my LI feed from Atlanta Fire and Rescue. Makes perfect sense. Nice build too:

WUT? 9%??? The new PURE BEV TERRA Line Chart has been released and it looks like this 🏒 LFG!!!!

Charging at a Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger Site

A wrapped Silverado from some sort of EV service company pulled up to the charger next to mine and the guy couldn't figure it out AT ALL. And, to make it worse, he had an adapter out already. I tried to explain to him that he didn't even need the adapter (which he was unsuccessfully trying to...

Charging at a Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger Site

In the spririt of helping those new to charging, I was on a road trip this week, took a ferry, got to my location and wanted to charge-up so I would be set for the duration of my stay. There was a charging station near my hotel, which happened to be a Tesla Magic Dock location. For those that...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Yes, enhanced wheel and tire tire change functionality is "built in" to the Rivian SERVICE menu. You can report which wheels and tires you are running, which is then used by the truck to determine accurate range estimates and track mileage automatically at rotation as well. Really nice interface...

Drivers not happy with their car screens

Good news - well, if you consider the Rivan JV, leveraging zonal architecture, and what we have seen from Scout to date with the Community U/X... This "Infotainment" problem won't be a problem. LOL. That article is so misleading.
