  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    FB find of the day

Was it Doug DeMuro that said, "I don't think it looks like a Rivian, I think Rivian looks like the older scouts"? I heard that on a car podcast no that long ago, but can't remember which one

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

As someone that drives an EV daily when I get handed the keys for the Buick we have to be the Designated driver, I've never had an issue, I think thats due to the nature of a combustion drivetrain, my car sits still, the Buick does not. But the Buick also has an ignition switch, not a button. so...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I don't personally want a button, but I can see some use cases for it, mainly being to let the vehicle know when your day is starting - ending, and everything in between is just normal EV operations. If it works with one push and not just ignores input, that would be fantastic. I just don't know...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Personally, I would disagree given that Electric cars do not need a push button to start it. It’s more of an annoyance when you come from a car with a key ignition that does not require you to press the brake pedal to start it so unless the push button start will activate systems without the...

    What was your first car?

My first vehicle was technically a 1977 Chevy C10 custom 4x4, I learned to drive manual in it, but when I turned 15 I was given a 2000 Silverado Z71 extended cab to be my daily

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yeah I think molley rails under the bench itself might be okay, so you strap things to it and they’ll be fine wether raised or in seat position, but on the floor might be a little much,

    Pilot Builds in 2026?

Pilot builds are usually the finalized design, run through the line for Q.A., and might be sent out as the demo vehicles for the public to interact with. I've read something about them being used for dealer test drives, but unless it's late 2026, that seems a little early for this description of...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I always have my phone on me, with rare times at home I leave it somewhere, but have my watch, however when I'm working or have my hands full having a fast access point to what I need, in this case remote start on my chevy, would be nice... but for that I have to swap from my Galaxy watch to an...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

It would be nice if there’s any intent for a watch based app/key to see that functionality on android. I do carry both an iPhone and Samsung for work purposes, but I prefer the look galaxy watches, since they aren’t quite as distinctive at a glance. As it’s getting colder I’ve been tempted to...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think there’s a heated wheel icon on the app demos climate options, seems odd to be able turn it on in the app, but I see the use cases

    Will there be toys?

I hope that some sort of small toy like a matchbox or hot wheels gets made, would love to have it with the other nice EV trucks, but knowing how popular the traveler is it’s possible the Terra won’t be the one getting a “toy” since I can’t find a small R1S

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I know they’ve said the plan is for the rear seat to fold up with rails for on the floor like the rear cargo area of the traveler , but because of the nature of the concept vehicle it’s not something they were able to show, just like the folding console of the front bench seat

Trying to understand size, especially interior.

I’m sure they will I just hope it will be before I start rearranging the garage to fit the Terra

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I think more people would swap to a plugin hybrid or EV if they knew more about them, there’s a lot of misinformation out there and people unwilling to research and learn. I few years ago I would have called you insane if you told me I’d be driving an EV, but somewhere in there I started looking...

    Outlets

Four might be the intended standard one in the frunk or cab and three by the charge port, the two in the bed with the 240 might be optional

Trying to understand size, especially interior.

Images overlay? Not exactly but comparing the reported dimension of the Terra to the Silverado EV is about 3 inches of difference. The Silverado EV is a massive truck

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

I assume the mean the Rivians motorized charge port door. If I’m not mistaken you touch a little sensor and it swings up/back out of the way. The EDV from Rivian have a push pop charge door
  19. RodorW

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Has there been anything showing how the charge port door actually opens? I know we’ve seen it in a fully open position, but it looks similar the bolt and Silverado “push pop” style

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Back when I worked for Amazon I drove the Rivian vans almost daily, they have no start/stop button, From my experience as long as a weight is in The seat and the fob in the van it stays on. I had to sit on the side of the road for hours one winter due to policy and have people come to me for...
