  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Solar Tonneau option

Scout would be much better served through a partnership, as opposed to trying to do this themselves. Perhaps a partnership whereby they co-brand a solar solution with an industry leader (for example). Please do not take this on yourself Scout! Stay focused on the core competencies required to be...

    Terra 5th Wheel Towing?

Personally, I've never owned a truck with a 5th wheel, and never had a need to. The only thing I have ever towed on a regular basis is a boat, so no fifth wheel. When I hear fifth wheel, I think big, heavy trailer or camper... For that reason alone, and due to the fact that the inefficiency and...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Who doesn't want dealerships, locking hubs and following the advice of your rock-picking neighbor - esp when it comes to purchasing your next truck? I'm out!... Switching to Ford for locking hubs, mixed metal alloys, piss and vinegar and a $5000 bill!!! 😁

    Blindspot Mirrors in Sideview Mirrors!

Rivian has an amber mirror light that will illuminate like most cars these days, and you can enable a BLIS tone, which will alert you NOT to change lanes, which I have found to be helpful for those quick lane changers. ALSO - If you put your blinker on to change lanes, the camera in your...

    Solar Tonneau option

Where and when I go truck camping (to spring ski in the NE) would give me such little solar power, I would not be able to justify the investment (at least here). And it is usually just a 1 or 2 night overnight if/when I can do it and the WX, snow and avalanche forecasts are all in agreement. If...

    Solar Tonneau option

Exactly, and edge cases are best supported in the aftermarket. Plenty of solar solutions there, or solutions that could be DIY.

    Terra 5th Wheel Towing?

    No.
  8. R1TVT

    Solar Tonneau option

In the case of the terra, there is also the issue of removing the tonneau or retracting it... That means interconnectivity to power is a major engineering consideration with many connections and potential failure points (unless it was permanently mounted, which would make the bed of the truck a...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Why be offensive to women in your posts? Might be worth noting the tenor of your non-sequitur comments. Know your audience! https://blog.scoutmotors.com/the-girl-scout-lindsey-and-doug-show-us-just-how-far-you-can-push-a-scout/ https://blog.scoutmotors.com/jodie-odonnell-vintage-scout/...

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

So, we should all get a rear-wheel drive flat-bed farm truck (without being a 4X4) BUT with manual locking front hubs (even though they won't work b/c it is a rear wheel drive truck) because of your neighbor?

    Interior Colors

Rivian's Ocean Coast (light) interior was definitely not a color for dog owners or owners concerned with getting into their trucks after doing some real dirt dog adventuring in the outdoors... That said, the grey-colored interior is awesome. They call it black mountain I think but its really a...

    Interior Colors

I removed my carpets immediately and replaced with these, which I ordered-up before I took delivery. They are so good, fit so well, and clean so well, I will never put carpet back in the truck. Of course shit is constantly being dragged into the truck with boots, kids cleats, ski boots, muck...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Does it make it any easier knowing that Toyota screwed themselves by bowing down to the O&G lobby in Japan, and basically giving up on innovation?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Lots of people worry about what other people "think" (BUT the other people aren't really thinking people at all, and have no clear or original thoughts) LOL.

    Wheel Options

Yes, this was discussed earlier and was an early aftermarket wheel on the prototype, I believe. Looks to be a 20" wheel w/ a Pirelli Scorpion A/T (+) - which is a dedicated A/T EV truck tire.
