Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Well regardless the statement from Scout hasn’t changed.

There seems to be an uptick in cars and cross-overs with weirdly shaped fenders, strange body panel bump-outs, and sloped rear roofs. They all appear (to me, at least) as "unattractive" - probably due to my own personal preference for boxy shapes. Did these designers all own Pontiac Azteks or something?

I actually find the lines on the old Volvo Wagons (rectangles on wheels) more attractive than these "hexagonal" body shapes. And for crissakes give me a flat roof line! LOL

For some reason I find the lines & shape of the BMW 740iX to be much more attractive than these crossover vehicles (but its a sedan) ZERO interest in actually owning one. But they do appear to my eyes to be much more "premium" than this other iX's in the line-up... I guess they should be for $120K. LOL.
Ditto on boxy shapes. If I could drive a toaster I would.

To clarify, this article was posted April 9. The reason Safari says it was updated two hours ago is because the site updated the article to include a "statement" from Scout. This appears to be what they added:

Staff member Jamie Vondruska posted on the company’s official forum, saying that the company was making "good progress." While she didn’t confirm specific production dates, she did note that the team is still moving "full steam ahead."

Thanks for figuring that out.

Stand down everyone. Nothing to see here.

So they didn’t bother to check gender…
That’s a great reporter…

Hmmm…. Not sure about this one…
It's doable, the seagull is tiny with only a 125 hp motor and either 30 or 40 kWh packs. if you push over 1000 kW into it in a short amount of time it should reach 80% SOC pretty quickly.

Also because it's really a city car, the price isn't surprising. Currently these companies are being partially subsidized by their government which is allowing them to offer the vehicles at a lower price point. If I had to take a guess this car without subsidies would sell in China from $18,000 - $25,000 USD based on trim levels and options. The unsubsidized price of €22,390 - €27,890 ($25,000 - $31,000) makes it competitive on its own over in the EU where it is sold as the dolphin surf.

I heard they are completely subsidized. And they are using poor working condition labor.

That scout II is killer good. Beautiful color, love the black roof. The lift makes the silhouette look so good-almost looks shorter than usual due to the height. And as an owner of ostrich chukkas-I’m a huge fan of ostrich leather. Beautiful vehicle and if daughter and father are on the forum-congrats to you both. This is in my top 3 vintage Scouts. Well Done ⭐️
