Would be cool to track our builds through the factory

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
With cameras, sensors, etc, would be way cool to track our builds through the factory with status.
- Your build is in motion today
- Your build just completed painting
- Your build is looking great after painting
-.......etc, etc.
Completely agree. With pictures or short video clips too.

If Disneyland can take your picture on Space Mountain and have it for you at the end of the ride I don’t see why SM can’t do the same.

Seems like that could be possible and you could track your vehicle by UserID/PW/VIN. I would have cameras all over the manufacturing floor. I imagine the VIN is scanned at every manufacturing station stop?

And if they could grab a pic of my face at the factory the first time I see my new Scout... It would probably look just like that pic at Disneyland!

:)

Alternatively...

You could send virtual hi-fives to the people building your scout, or like even display who it is, how long you were a reservation holder, or if you've got some cool story about why you are interested/buying.

Could be an interesting two way street for this one.

We need to give the Scout team their flowers.
Or a Venmo system for like when a restaurant has a buy the kitchen staff a beer-we should have a forum happy hour or when you buy the scout you can round up to an even $50 amount and the fund builds to be used to reward the factory teams-a happy hour/a bbq lunch/taco Tuesday/slip and slide Saturday -and so on…. Appreciate them and they appreciate us and in turn they care more and do a phenomenal job

I thought about that too actually but wasn’t sure how scout corporate would like the concept of “tipping” people for building the vehicle they were already being paid for. Seems like it could cause some friction.

But, I do like the idea. I’m sure something could be done. And it certainly would make scout motors stand out from the crowd some.

Although I’m sure that would be popular at the beginning with all the forum members and preorders. But not sure how much it would be used past the preorder phase.
