TFL dumping on Scout in there latest video

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Speculating delivery in 2030 and saying Scout going to go down the same path as the ID Buzz. Delays will cause failure and excitement will go down. Let’s hope not.
Interesting observation

That’s 2030 date has already been refuted by SM in a statement.

Honestly, cant they have one positive prediction. I would hate to go through life with such a negative outlook. Sheesh.

Negativity gets clicks. Same reason for the old saying about the news business, "if it bleeds it leads." Humans are wired to be afraid of the sabre-tooth tiger hiding in the grass. We pay much more attention to the negative than the positive.

Bottom line is that none of this really matters. Very few people follow this stuff - almost no one I've talked to knows that Scout has been rebooted. Once the vehicles are on the road there will be a new wave of interest.

Ideally Scout would beat the Ram EREV and the coming Ford and Chevy PHEVs in order to get more media coverage but delivering reliable vehicles on budget is the most important thing.

TFL have lost a lot of what I used to enjoy from them, I’ll still put them on in the background for noise from time to time, but I can’t take them all that seriously, they complain about something, then praise it, then complain. Sorta like the BUZZ, they sold their long term tester early even though the enjoyed all because of the depreciation, which I understand that from there business standpoint, but at the end of the day they are media and that’s what they do.

Well, as they are the self-appointed voices of a generation and their feedback is important to their viewers, I’m sure that they will be asked to please stay on the line while they’re on hold and their call will be answered as soon as possible.
Makes me hope SM isn’t inviting them to any of their media events. Not saying everyone has to praise everything but if just negative then cut them off

TFL is more right than wrong.

The reality is that Scout faces significant challenges bringing its products to market.

"Negativity" to a fanboy is reality to others.

We can all gather round the internet in 2030 and see who was right.
Looking at the April factory update I would say negativity belongs entirely on TFL's side not the fanboys lol

Yah, negativity may be a click hunt but they make a few good points- if/when Scout arrives there will be formidable competitors in the segment. Crowded? Maybe…and yes, there have always been formidable challenges to bring a new badge to market. A startup automaker was unheard of for decades. Hopefully Scout leverages the knowledge base of their parent…

Ok, I'll bite.

What pieces are they more right about?

I think I should maybe go part time at work and just become an automotive journalist. At this current rate I think I can just use AI to source everything and then make up the rest
I was just sitting here thinking the same thing. Half the time when I watch their videos or someone else's they are complaining about minute stuff that an "average" daily driver doesn't even think about. If I knew how to become an automotive journalist I would be one. My youtube channel would be filled with laughter, music, and fun things for people to consider when buying cars. But I digress. Negativity spreads like wildfire unfortunately. :( :ROFLMAO:

There’s been almost $200 billion invested in EV production, while GM and VW have abandoned models. Consumer demand for EVs in the HS is disappointing other makers while Scout is bucking the trend…

I'm not sure a 13% EV take-rate with Scout qualifies as bucking the trend, but the demand for the EREV is definitely a step in the right direction.
