I thought it might be fun to make a thread for posting video links that are relevant to the interests of Scout lovers. I was thinking this after going down some rabbit holes of old IH Scout advertising over the past couple of evenings and seeing the kind of language and imagery used to appeal to buyers in their particular time period and how that evolved. It’s been fun to see!
This ad was shown in Australia! The announcer has a posh accent.
Based on what they told me about their reasoning for wanting a Scout instead of a station wagon as a family car (namely, station wagons were for effin’ squares and not for cool parents like them), I feel like this might have been what got my parents in the door to a Scout dealership.
The guy playing the husband in this one also played Ronald McDonald in commercials when I was a kid. He also used to be in Toyota commercials.
