Ford sells a PHEV Ranger and the SUV Version, the Everest in Sourh East Asia... Funny they don't bring them over here. I'd buy a PHEV Ranger in a heartbeat as it would be perfect for my needs..

My partner wanted a maverick hybrid, until they found out it wasn’t a plug in, I feel like ford has dropped the ball on some great vehicles for the US market. Personally never been a ford guy, but my most reliable truck to date was 01 Lariat with the 5.4 Triton 300k miles and the rear differential started to give up, so it’s been parked waiting for repairs, I can’t imagine it’ll be in great shape by the time we get them done

As ugly as Toyota's EVs have been, this is going to pique my interest, even if it doesn't hit home from a design standpoint. May have to consider it competition to my Scout purchase, depending on specs, pricing and timing. Although I REALLLLLY don't want to deal with Toyota's ridiculous allocation system. Let me get the exact configuration I want!

As much as I want to say don’t leave the Scout community! Everyone has to do what works for them. This is transportation after all.

I have heard that it's still common to have a 6-18 month waitlist for certain vehicles and configurations at Toyota dealerships.

And they won’t let you place an order. At least none of the ones we contacted when we were trying to buy the Supra would.

Yep, it's pretty ridiculous. And you have to take what they get in, or risk losing your place in line. And potentially be on waitlists (paid or unpaid) at multiple different dealerships to up your chances. Went through the whole thing with the new Land Cruiser when it was announced. Actually ended up getting an allocation earlier than I expected, but didn't move forward on it.

Even the Mundane ones have the same experience. When we were looking at 3 row SUV's before we got the Ioniq 9, we considered the Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE (the cheapest/fuel efficient one).

Calling around to dealerships they said they best they could do was take down our name, what we wanted, and they'd call us when they had one coming in. And then it was a race between whoever wanted that type of vehicle configuration, and which salesman called their customers, to see which customer would show up first to get the vehicle.

Its ridiculous.

That’s why we own a Honda Pilot. Wife wanted another Highlander and we were 12-16 weeks. Maybe sooner if they got a non allocated unit and we were willing to take is as configured. We had 42 Pilots to choose from over 5 dealerships within an hours drive so unfortunately Toyota lost our business

Our experience w/ 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid - if you find an available allocation soon enough, anything but powertrain, trim, and with/without sunroof could be changed. We wanted Limited Hybrid w/out sunroof, found such an allocation, then changed colors and equipment (both factory and land-port) from there (changes happen overnight in their system). Clumsy but doable if the dealer is actually willing to work for their cut.
