Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Hahahaha. Not that I am aware of. I know he likes to take corners pretty fast. Been in the car when that’s happened. 😹
I had typed out an “accusation as question” about hard cornering in my first response to this and then thought better of it. Hard cornering is a common cause of uneven internal wear on one or two tires.

Okay but will “hard cornering” wear the internal band of the tire enough ro need replacing at 9200 miles.

It could, yes.

But if your tire guy says it’s not necessary to replace them now, then I would trust them. If you wanted random internet people to give you opinions that are worth as much as you’re paying for them, you could post photos of the insides of the tires.

I’ve seen people destroy tires in 5000 miles by riding them harder than is reasonable. Especially summer tires, which don’t last very long in general. But with the AS tires on it, it’s probably fine.

If the McLaren boys keep up like this Max really does have a shot at the championship. And Carlos came in third in the sprint race! Sparkles did it again!!

Spent some time on the 4x4 beach in Carova Beach, NC. Likely the only off-roading I’ll endeavor to do, beyond forest service and logging roads. Still takes skill and knowledge to run on the sands especially up near the dunes on the loose stuff! Saw one Stuck RAM Rebel but that was it.

This is the second year running staying on the 4x4 beach and already have deposit down on another property for next year.

He’s rotated them every 3,000 miles and they only have 9,200 miles on them. I expect to get more than that out of a tire.
I had a 2004 Cadillac CTS-V when it first came out with the 400 hp corvette Z06 engine and 6 speed manual.

I got less than 10k miles out of the original set of tires, but admittedly, I was checking out the readings on the lateral G meter it had among other shenanigans, so that may have had something to do with the abysmal tire life. When you have that much hp you kinda want to see what it can do. Of course, by today's standards that 400 hp is mediocre, especially compared to the instant speed and acceleration of EVs. 🤣

Beautiful photos. Did you list that as a hobby on the other thread? I’ve lost track of who said what

Haha no, I’m a terrible photographer, rarely ever get my phone out to take pics. I like to experience the event and hopefully record it to memory. I do try to remember to snap photos on special occasions and important milestones so everyone there can view them and have them for sentimental enjoyment.

My buddy from high school moved down there full time and has a photography business and off-road guide business for the obx area. https://endof12.com/

F1! Lando and Oscar are only separated by 1 point! And for those who don’t know they are on the same team and tend to have issue. Max is in 3rd and there’s 4 races left. It’s anyone’s game at this point who wins!

Very cool. I’m like you. I take very few pics. Unless it’s a Scout event because if I don’t @cyure will yell at me 🤣

I'm working late in the workshop and the elk have decided to pass through. I was going to head back to the house a few minutes ago, but it sounds like I'll be stuck here for a bit. No photo because it's only a quarter moon out.
