Scout Concepts in Charlotte, North Carolina September 26, 2026

Saturday morning in Charlotte. If you are in town, plan to join other fellow members in the morning for a little Scout Pre-gaming. Let’s plan to meet anytime between 9:15 and 10:30 am for a meet up and light breakfast at the Optimist Hall Food court. The website link is attached. It is limited/light food choices for breakfast but has lots of caffeine. I’m told by Charlotte coworkers it is approx 5-8 minutes from the venue and there is free parking.
If you know you are coming shout it out and if not sure you’ll still be able to swing in. Jamie has said he will try to stop in and I made it close to venue to help encourage that I’ll try to figure out something to identify the group. I’ll probably have some form of Scout merch on but we will somehow get linked up. If you get there and think you are first or early post a pic of where you are posted otherwise I’ll do the same when I get there. Looking forward to building the Scout Community.

Wow-seriously didn’t even see that but thanks for pointing it out. I’ve been judging less and daughter will take break from it in December when she graduates but I will definitely have to check this out. Too funny

I'd definitely browse their pens/pencils at a minimum.

they have the rollerball version of some of the Tornado pens online - if they have the fountain pen versions in person, I may be in trouble...

Oh-for sure. Love a good Black wing pencil.

Hope they have a demo. I’m so used to drawing with the Pilot Precise V5’s ( extra fine) that I forget to look at and try pens. I have plenty of unique pencils but finding another great pen would be awesome. The precise are great as the ink dries pretty quickly, glides well on trace and bond paper and doesn’t smear with my alcohol based rendering markers. Ironically the cheap box of Crayola markers I use for envelope decorating does smear-go figure!

I love the Uniball Signo RT1 0.28 - very fine and nice to write with. Also the Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.25 is awesome. I’ve not tried them to see if they smear though. The Uni Jetstream Edge is a great refillable one too.

Just want to update that the vehicles will only be on display until 6pm. Once the main stage picks up, we need to close down the inside display portion where the vehicles are.
