Bench Seats vs Cupholders

Quick question if anyone has any real insight.

I personally would love to get the bench seat so we can have a 6 person capable truck. My wife who would probably drive it more often since I work at home immediately wants to know how the heck you'd have a cupholder for her morning coffee if you'd have a bench seat.

In a bench seat setup is there any designed way to have driver cupholders when the middle seat isn't necessary?

If no one is sitting in the middle seat there’s a console that will fold down with cupholders in it. It just hasn’t been shown yet.

In my current truck (2015 F-150) there's cup holders in the doors, cup holders in the back of the fold-down middle seat and there's cupholders that can come out of the bottom of the middle seat. When using the middle seat though, only the door ones are accessible. Unless Scout designs them in the dash, I'm thinking there would be no access to any outside of the fold-down section.

Yes. They are called thighs. That’s how we used to roll in the dark times. Back in the nineties when I drove my grandpa’s hand-me-down Plymouth Reliant K car with my nerdy friends and my crusty punk friends and all of my inbetween friends, that’s what held a cup.

Sounds about right. Guess for two in the front you’ll have the fold down console for drinks and if a third in the front they are the drink holder or find an aftermarket that hangs from the door sill?

Vise your beverage in the death grip of the power window glass and that which holds the power window? 3D print a li’l sling for your door? Hang up a macramé plant hanger to give your interior and your dranks a little natural atmosphere?

You have a person sitting in the middle seat. They're perfectly capable of holding some cups!
Reminds me of some 2-door sports cars I've had in the past. With zero cupholders, I'd keep one of those 4-spot cardboard drink holders you get from fast food restaurants behind the seat. When needed, I'd grab it and stick it in the passenger seat. Definitely not great for cornering or anything, but it kept it upright if you didn't do anything stupid. For bottles, the void left behind the seatbelt latch and center console typically works perfectly for 1/2 liter to 20oz bottles. You gotta do what you gotta do, but I suspect Scout will give us some cupholders...

my flex has 10 - one in each of the 4 doors, two between the front seats, two for the middle row in a pull out between the front seats, and one on each side of the back row of seats. Very useful!

Just in the front? That seems like a lot. I can see two in the fold down and two in the door. That’s four and you only get 3 people in the front but hey-I tend to bring two travel mugs to work everyday-one water and one caffeine so who am I to question the count

That makes sense overall but I took @Mousehunter ti mean all those were just the front so maybe I misunderstood

not all for drinks - I use the one in the driver's door for my sunglasses case because it is big and shaped kind of like a submarine so it doesn't fit many places well. The ones in the middle front get used a lot. The one in the passenger door keeps a spare bottle of water for emergencies. The kids have drinks in all the cupholders in the middle row on long trips - a drink from fast food in the pull out and a soda/water bottle in the door. The back seats are usually folded down so the cupholders back there rarely get drinks. I keep a tiny first aid kit in one usually. But when the kids have had their friends on trips all of them get used.

I honestly don't know how many cup holders are in the back seats of my F250 - assume 4, but I would need to check. Door cup holders are better than nothing - good for spare drinks, worthless for something you are actively drinking. Center cup holders are the most useful. Dash are great as well, but not as good as the center console ones.

My wife's Jeep has 2 (in the front) - it sucks. She uses both and I have a drink in my lap. With 3 kids in the back row - the 2 that are in the rear of the center console are in the way and not enough.
